Just read your article in Kit Planes, Anodize... Where do you connect the positive lead from the power supply/battery. I missed it.

Page 75, top of the page shows a piece of welding rod going across the bucket, and a length of solder going from the welding rod down to the part being anodized. Positive lead goes to the part being anodized, through the solder, up to the welding rod, which is where the + lead of the power supply is connected.

There are lots of good Youtube videos about hobby anodizing. The process is the same but the execution varies, and that's pretty fun to see. My custom milled brake reservoirs are AN blue as a result. Fun stuff.
 
Note that if you are trying this at home, getting a consistent color across a large area won't happen without practice! But I mainly did this for corrosion protection.
