Hey everyone! I have been lurking on this board for months now and finally decided to introduce myself. Doug from Philly, almost 2 years in and prepping for my check ride. This all started with an intro ride wife got me for Father's Day a couple years back and boy is she regretting that! Anyway, my training situation has been a struggle because the school I go to only has 2 planes and 1 instructor so schedules are constantly an issue. I didn't realize this was going to be a problem until too far commited. Anyway, I hope to have this wrapped up by the end of May and will switch schools for Instruments. Just wanted to thank everyone for this site. The content is entertaining, educational and a reality check. Recently I have just been reading through all the Check ride reports which are very helpful. Look forward to many more conversations and help! Keep an eye out for my "which plane should I buy" post in the near future! Ha!

You can always get a new wife.
But getting your pilot certificate is just ONCE :goofy:
 
Best of luck and don't give up. Once you have your ticket and take your first long cross country trip than it will all be worth it!
 
Wife just thought an intro ride would be a good experience, didn't expect me to go through with getting my license! Silly wife. Anyway, I will finish this up hopefully by end of May. Just frustrated how long it has taken. Just goes to show you how important it is to research your school a little bit. Once you are 20+ hours in, it's hard to switch.
 
Awesome! Where are you flying out of? I'm based at Morgantown (O03) right now, but I did my PPL at Brandywine (KOQN). Feel free to PM me once you figure out which DPE you'll be using. I may be able to give you a pirep.
