Here's our EAA 1252 newsletter report on our Oshkosh adventure.

Yes it was our group that arrived in a mobile home on the back of a tow truck (40 miles).

Must have been our address lucky 13th and Cottonwood.

Milestones-

President flew right seat SIC in Trimotor after being bumped one flight by "Sullie". Welcome to the airlines.

43 members at Camp 1252

Wednesday Dinner with the stars (1252 tradition) Aerobatric Pilot John Klatt Air National Guard S-300D. Pays to have retired Air Force brass in the club (last year was U2 Commanding Officer).

Okay, here's some of the ones I shot with the amazing (and expensive - What on earth possessed anyone to give me $11K in camera gear for a day?!? ) Canon 1Ds Mark III on Wednesday of the show:

(And yes, I know I committed the worst faux pas of aviation photography: I stopped the props! That's what I get for not putting the camera in shutter-priority mode, I guess...)

Given that you need something like 1/30 sec exposure time to completely blur spinning props, I think you'd find it rather difficult to hand shoot such a picture at the focal length you were using.
