I'm curious too. It's three rent-an-office (office in a shipping container) put together, but I don't remember seeing it.

You got it. It was near the LSA Mall. Guy was showing off fully livable shipping containers.

One had a queen bed and kitchen, another had bunk beds for four and a kitchen, and another was like an office with a couch. They had a single box at the back with a lock for water and electricity ingress. I didn't see where the egress for sewage was.

I mainly took the picture out of thoughts that one of them would make a good little retirement place on some land with an airstrip and could be easily shipped anywhere in the world.

Also was kinda thinking they'd be pretty easy to build one yourself.

Sorry, I don't remember his company name. Here's a few more photos of them. Little bit claustrophobic but interesting concept.

I've seen some other examples of these and thought they would be a great idea and new twist to "manufactured housing".

The house I currently rent is a small early 60's that needs repair to bring it back to glory. But the lot is very nice and large for the neighborhood. I've daydreamed about bulldozing and putting in one of these homes.

Great pictures, Rob! I'm very jealous of your Cub ride to get there. And the helicopter ride, too, that had to have been incredible!

What is this one?

That first one I forget. It's a boat, lands in water. Similar kind of idea as the Ikon, but not as sexy. Not an LSA though, either.

The second one is called an "Expedition" and had specs that seemed to go roughly head to head with the C-206 for performance, but a much bigger and more accessible cabin. Yours for *only* 1/2 a million buckaroonies.

The last was the Ikon. Sexy. Whether the steak meets the sizzle is yet to be seen.

For a guy who lives in a State where landing on any bodies of water isn't legal, I sure like floatplanes.

I know. I need a life. Haha. Antennas and transmitter trucks are sexy too.

I took my motorcycle to get there, but was fortunate enough to get the cub ride on my Saturday night stay over. Red Stewart Airfield in Waynesville OH, great place! Found it fitting to get another flight in the cub since OSH was celebrating the anniversary of them. When I win the EAA Cub, then I'll fly it back to OSH :wink2:

The first one is the Akoya by Lisa Airplaines (a Frence company). I liked is so much picked up a brocure.

It is an LSA that in addition to being amphibous and foulding the wings for trailering like the icon, also had retractable skis. It's powered by a Rotax 912. It has a usedul load of 550 lbs.

The first plane you asked about
LISA airplanes.. In my opinion it's nicer than the icon

I love the concept of building out of shipping containers, and wouldn't mind doing something like that in a few years. Build the hangar for the airplanes then put the boxes just outside for living structure.

Here's the blue-on-blue-182 right off the end of 9-27 in the North 40 camping area. The plywood boards are to keep the gear from sinking into the soft Wisconsin soil and the chocks are made out of PVC pipe.

The vertical pipe bungeed to the prop is an aircraft band antenna; don't knock it, it easily picked up the Fisk transmitter as shown (and demonstrated in the forum).

The POA website is being quite fussy this morning about loading images. I'll post a couple more this afternoon.

The POA website is being quite fussy this morning about loading images. I'll post a couple more this afternoon.

OK, I give up. I've got a couple more pictures in jpg format, about 200k each, that I've been trying to upload for a day. The error message is a timeout message that the website is too busy.

They are vertical format (taller than they are wide) but should that make a difference as to whether or not they will load? Any other comments?

Lordy, no. It would make it impossible to fit it to the airplane.

And, here is a tip ... DON"T USE CHOCKS ON GRASS WITHOUT THE PLYWOOD. Not if, but WHEN the tires sink into the grass you have to take the pants off to move the airplane AND you have to pull the airplane out of the mud OVER the chocks.

Howcome it is so awfully hard to upload photos? I've been trying for two weeks to get four jpg photos up on that one message? Is there some sort of undocumented limitation on jpgs?

I can't say how much I appreciated folks here and elsewhere with reminders to bring three wooden boards to put under the wheels on the grass at OSH. It is so much easier than what we see neighbors doing (and helping them push out)...

There is a file size limit, Jim. It's hiding there in the fine print somewhere. You may want to try reducing the size of the JPG and see if one will upload.

Thanks for posting everyone.

I'm always amazed that even though I spent 4 days at Oshkosh (Monday-Thursday) and thought I saw everything, there were still planes that I missed.

BTW, I think the backloaded more events toward the end of the week this year. Not much was happening early on. This was probably by design to keep people from leaving. Maybe next year I'll come later and stay through the weekend.

Heh heh like I said no one else has had a problem. Seriously how big are the pictures you want to up load? The size could be the problem and you likely just need to reduced the size. What message do you get when you try to upload them?

With your computer, your photos, and no info from you on what the screen is doing or saying for error messages?

Good luck on that. Clairvoyance probably isn't one of his strong suits.
