I'm installing Airtex seats for the second time (first was 24 years ago!). They have changed the padding and I went with fake leather instead of cloth this time. I looked at other options because my old seats were never very comfortable, but at Oshkosh this year I was able to compare what is out now, and couldn't beat using Airtex and doing it myself. I still have to put in the armrest, but here are the 1992 and 2016 rear seats side by side.

Pretty easy to do, but I saw a couple of you tube videos that helped - especially a trick with using a dry cleaner bag over the foam to make the cover slide over easier..

Your new seat is looking good! I went with the AirTex leather seats and fake leather walls. I really like the shape of the AirTex seat cushions. The shape helps keep you centered in the seat. My old seats felt like I was sliding off of them.

Your leather looks great. When I talked to airtex about what has changed since '92' they are using different padding and they countour a lot more now.

Looks nice. How's your sitter-downer feel on them?

Another option you have with Airtex is to ship the seats to them and they'll do the work for a reasonable price (that is what we did in 2006).

My wife has back issues from falling out of a horse trailer about 10 years ago. She had back surgery two years ago. After I put in the new seats she said they were so much more comfortable to her back. That is saying a lot coming from her. To me they are firm enough to give you good support but yet soft enough to be comfortable. I've had mine for two years now and still happy with the upgrade. Since I attached a pic of the current seats in my previous post #5 above, I'll attach a picture of my old interior below so you can see the difference.

N9144P, I didn't mean to side track your thread but thought I could add a PIREP for Unit74 since you and I have essentially the same seats. I wish mine had the headrests like yours though.

How is the install on these? I made an attempt to redo mine myself, and it didn't turn out horrible it's definitely no airtex. Not to mention the 10 hrs I spent on just the pilot seat. The $1400 is looking cheaper by the day as I debate the other three.

I did the interior panels myself but took the seats and new seat covers over to the local auto/boat shop. They did it in a day. Much better than I could do.
