Due to weather last weekend I had to leave our 182 on the west side of the Cascade Mountains. We drove over yesterday anticipating the perfect morning to fly it home. The sky was clear from the motel window early this morning but when we arrived at our departure airport it was fogged in. We knew the fog would eventually burn off so we drove into town to kill some time.

We ended up in a gun store & saw a Colt 1911 I just have to have. It cost me a pretty penny. It was all the danged airplanes fault. We should have gone to a coffee shop.

A 1911 in 38 Super?

Looks good, though
Very pretty. But now that you pointed out the caliber, the proportions did seem a bit off when I first looked at it.

only a pimp in cheap New Orleans whorehouse would carry a pearl handled pistol.

:D

nice gun, though

Found the matching car

All jokes aside, good looking pistol, don't see many 1911s in 38S
Pimping ain't easy! I actually have a better gun for that car...
My dad is a gun engraver. Every so often, he gives me one of his engraved guns. He gave me this a few years ago, and it is my regular carry piece (but I must admit, I've changed out the pearl grips for wood, as I just don't like the "pimp life"):

You just gave me an idea....

I could fit a whole lot of vintage guitars in the Twin
Beech....and I can blame it all on the airplane!

LOL. I have a Sig 238 with pearl grip panels. It came that way, bought It used for a song, and I've never bothered to change them.
