Airpark near Bull Shoals Lake

There is a full-page ad in this month's issue of Plane&Pilot for the Perfect Landing Airpark in MO near the Bull Shoals Lake. It sounded pretty cool, except for the fact that they are planning on having a paved runway.

And except for the fact that their referenced web site doesn't work.

Why would anyone feel the need for a gated community in the middle of nowhere?

It looks like it might be on our flight path to Gaston's, so we'll have to check it out.

I guess to stop a bunch of POA pilot miscreants from driving in and riling things up the begining of june.

I have them daily. :D

But, it hasn't worked since Friday, until now. Musta been down. I see that it re-directs to .net now.

When I looked up Cedarcreek, somewhere it said that Brad Pitt has property there. What is he doing in MO????? Doesn't he know about our floods, ice storms and tornadoes????

Come on Diana, you have been in that part of the country, would you want some of them there hillbillies to be able to walk up to your front door. Its bad enough they drop in from the sky.:D

I've always wondered if there were any airport communities based around lakes here in the midwest. It's nice to know that I have something to aspire to. I just saw another one in Dyersville, IA while perusing the website that Kevin posted earlier.

i think that the one in that picture is not in dyersville, but along the mississippi. Ive flown over it but cant remember its name. I think that he saw it on his way to dyersville and thats why it got that tag on the website.

i looked it up on skyvector. the name of the airport is GAA, its a private grass strip right next to Guttenburg, IA on the Mississippi. Between Cassville and Prarie du Chien. I think Leah and I flew over it on our way to 6Y9 and decided that was where we needed to be.

There are several on Table Rock Lake, MO00- Turkey Mountain, MO32- Table Rock, MO61- Bel-Voir and MO64- Kimberling Airways are just a few of them.

Some may argue with you on that one. Bull Shoals is the way Table Rock was 15 years ago. The water is clearer for diving, fishing is better and less people with big ass boats causing trouble. Table Rock is starting to be the Lake Of the Ozarks of SW Missouri. Keep the the drunks up there where they can thin them selfs out like last year.
 
Hello everyone I'm new to this forum. Just thought I would jump in on this topic and answer questions if needed about perfect landing airpark. Im not here to advertise just to inform. Let me know if you have any questions.:)
 
And BTW Bull Shoals Lake is a calm beautiful lake. Awesome for scuba and fishing! Lots of privacy with little traffic, no worrys about being taken out by a bunch of kids with a new boat:hairraise:.
 
There's one (and only one) synapse left in my pea-brain that can just barely remember when there warn't no Table Rock Lake. I think the dam had been built by that time, but the lake wasn't full yet.

I think we had a '57 Buick Century Station Wagon, the rear axle of which wiped a bearing in Clovis, NM on the way home from that particular vacation ('58 or '59 if that synapse is working correctly).

I also remember an early '70s February crappie fishing trip with my older brother, where we caught our limit without any real effort. Sonar was an brand-new consumer product. His 50Hp-rated boat had an 80Hp engine on it.

Ain't like it used to be, for sure. Even the trees outside the chapel window at Silver Dollar City obscure the old view of the lake...

There is an annual Fly/Float-In at Guttenberg. My father-in-law remembers flying there when he was in nursing school at U of I many moons ago. We were going to take the RV up there last year, but weather was less than desirable for landing on an unfamiliar island. ;)

There used to be a dirt strip with homes along it here in New Mexico along the Ute Lake. Unfortunately, it was not taken care of and eventually closed :( I never got a chance to land there, either.

Yeah it does. Rachel's dad talks about flying up there with a buddy in a 140 in the middle of the summer and thinking they were gonna get wet on takeoff. ;)

No lake, but there's a community east of Lincoln on Holdredge. They have ~1700' grass runway. None of the runway houses were for sale when I was house shopping. Look at ~ N40 49.571 W96 34.414
