Friends - I want to create a whiteboard to hang on my hangar wall that will remind me when my plane's annual is due, next oil change, next pitot/static certification, list squawks, etc. Since I'll be creating this from, literally, a blank slate, what items would you suggest I include on the status board?

Thanks!

Oil change
Magnetos
Engine and Prop installed at
Individual AD's
ELT

maybe next Database update

BFR
phone numbers for fuel
Tower, sweeper etc
Part numbers filters gaskets and o rings commonly changed during an annual

Next medical/BasicMed
ELT registration if you have a 406
Transponder cert

Certificates
State Registration Renewal Month if applicable Date Due
Aircraft Registration Renewal Month

Inspections
Annual Inspection Month.
ELT Inspection
ADs Dates Due
Transponder inspection Date Due
Pitot Static Inspection Date Due
VOR Check Date Due

Data
GPS Data Card Date Due

Part 43 Maintenance
Oil Change - hours
Magnetos - hours
Spark Plugs - hours
Date of Last Battery Replacement - Airframe.
Date ELT Battery
Date/Hours Vac System Filter Replacement
Date for Engine Air Filter Replacement.
Date/Hours of last Brake lining service
Tire / Strut pressures.

Mine includes my next medical due date.

I immediately input that in my calendar when I get a medical, with a 30-day reminder to schedule an appointment for a Basic Med physical. It couldn't hurt to put it on the status board, too.

I think the heading on the board is now doing to be something like: PILOT/AIRCRAFT STATUS

After re-reading this thread I think I can summarize it thusly: just duct tape all your logbooks, certificates, manuals, records, receipts, and all ADs/SBs to the white board.

Numbers for local pizza and Chinese delivery.

For the plane stuff, some are going to be hours based, some are going to be calendar based. I think you'll drive yourself nuts if the primary record keeping is done either on a whiteboard or in the logs. So make a spreadsheet with *everything* that has to be done periodically, from logs to oil changes. Then list the top 3 hours and calendar based items, with the dates and times. That will be something you can check before you fly to make sure you're legal...with just 3 + 3 you won't have to scan 30 different things. Don't forget IFR currency of stuff, too, including GPS. Update the whiteboard from the spreadsheet when it rolls off.

If you're the only one that flies out of it, put your stuff on there, too. VFR day/night takeoffs for currency, IFR too, medical if you want, biannual, etc.

If you're married/attached, put their birthday on there.

I don't think mine will be quite that extensive, but there are some greats bits of advice in this thread!

Date of last +10 landing.
Date of last loan payment where you will own the A/C outright.
Date of last time you forgot to close your flight plan.

And for those with a busy life:
Date of last flight.
Date of last run-up to heat up oil because you have not flown since the last item.

Date of last +10 landing.
What's a "+10 landing"?
Date of last time you forgot to close your flight plan.
What's the purpose of tracking this?
Date of last run-up to heat up oil because you have not flown since the last item.
Add some Camguard and call it a day. There's numerous threads here on PoA that say run-up without flying is worse for the engine than just sitting.

someone must have forgot to bring their sense of humor

We’re going to need a bigger white board!

Work and the rental places track these things on the computer and also on a clipboard in the plane

most forgotten thing is the registration in my limited experience.

All the pitot items can be combined, it’s done at the same time anyways

have a area to write down little squawks that you may not want or have time to get to right then so you don't forget them. I also have a place to write down loaned tools so I know where my stuff is.

I really did not think a smiley was required. I thought it was obvious that some of my items were tongue-in-cheek.;)

For example:
Last time I had a +10 landing is the last time I flew without anyone around to see my "great" landing. Just like the big fish that got away when nobody else saw it. :)

I was kinda thinking about all those "It's been xxx days since someone got hurt." that you see at some businesses.
