What a way to start the day off on the 4th of July... flying with POA member @pburger and getting photos of his beautiful Piper Arrow II. We had plans to fly over the river near LaGrange, TX, but the weather had other ideas, so we jumped on top. Turned out to be a good decision!

Great pix... It's different seeing a cloud deck under the plane... In your shots, anyway...

But the plane's the thing, and pix of that came out nice!

Don't know if it's just Jack's pictures, or maybe something wrong with me, but Arrows are really beautiful airplanes.
 
I think the paint job has a lot to do with it.
Agreed...I usually don't care for swoopy paint jobs, but that plane looks Awesome.

I really like the Cherokee shape, and then when you tuck the gear up it gets even better. I prefer that style cowl too, as opposed to the round hole one they use now.
 
Jack is getting too good ... someone needs to get a barely airworthy rat trap in the air to give Jack a challenge;)
LOL, I don't mean to make it look easy!! No challenges needed!
 
Beautiful Arrow and great shots! The one taken from underneath is a neat picture. So cool to see the gear tucked in like that.

Thanks. The paint job is from 2013. I used to feel the same way about what I called "swooshy" paint jobs. I spent a couple of months on designs with mainly straight lines, but I just wasn't feeling it. I finally caved and started down the "swooshy" road, and I'm glad I did. Here is what I sent the paint shop. I was very surprised how accurately they implemented my design. I used Crider Aircraft Painting in Mena, AR.Paint scheme.png
 
Great photos! I just took my first flight in an Arrow yesterday that looked very similar to this one! Beautiful plane!
 
Beautiful pictures. And great write-up... I'm partial to the Arrows, myself...
 
Love the pictures, of course. But I sure wish they'd let someone proof these articles: The specs they show are not for my plane, and there isn't an Arrow out there that stalls at 45kts! ...and the automatic gear extension wasn't phased out before the Arrow II. Mine had it from the factory, but it was removed later. No Arrows had an O-360, they all came with the IO-360. I'm sure there are more gaffes, but I haven't read the whole article. Sheesh!! [EDIT -- electric flaps on later Arrows?? I don't think so! -- double-sheesh!]

But seriously, it's pretty cool to see my plane featured like this!! Thanks again to Jack and POS!!
