This beautiful plane is fresh out of the paint shop, so we had to get some photos of it. I tried hard to get the prop blur you guys like so much, but this twin Cessna must have had invisible props!

Typically it's a lot cheaper for them to come to me. This plane is based very close to me. When I travel, I try to let everyone know I'll be in the area to save everyone some money!

The Sedona trip we just did was a lot of fun. I'm thinking of doing a trip to the Arkansas area next year to get photos of planes when the leaves change colors.
 
As always, great shots Jack, but the pictures prove so much more. Here you are staying with a Citation to take pictures. You’re burning around ten gallons an hour for that speed while the Citation is burning ten times more than that.

It’s a CJ2. He probably has to throttle back.

I don’t know anything about photography other than point and shoot.

I notice that some of your pictures have the sun on the other side of the plane some with the sun on your side. Is this something you plan for or do you just work with what you end up with?

It is by design. I don't really like backlit photos that much, the plane is dark, but sometimes they look pretty cool. I try to fly in circles to get different lighting and get the pilot's eyes out of the sun for a little while. I always tell people the hardest part of what we do is flying into the sun!

Even with my Bose headset on, I could hear him spooling up and down. He did an amazing job making it look seamless. We were balls to the wall and doing about 163kts.

Did you get the Bo or find someone to take you up? I know you’ve been thinking about getting a faster photo-ship.

No, I haven't got one yet. This is a friend of mine who takes me up when the 182 isn't fast enough!

Thanks - just curious and always interested in hearing of good shops. Jim Miller Aircraft Painting in Uvalde has done a couple of Lear projects for me and for several other referral customers and they've all been very nice.
 
Love the end result Jack, but I wonder why they used your CJ2 pictures for an article about a 500?

I'm not sure. I hadn't read the article until you said something. I see they mention the 500 series jets and I think technically the CJ2 is a Cessna 525. They only asked me to shoot a Citation and this was the first one I found that was interested.

Yeah, it's probably not easy to find Citations that are willing to go up just to shoot photos. Not a knock on you of course - the pictures are fantastic as usual! I just found it odd for them to profile the 500 when they have photos of the much, much more capable (and expensive!) 525A.

The shots in the magazine did a good job of showing your skills. Textron my be interested in them for their advertising. I’m betting they don’t have any shots down low that compare to yours.
