I saw Patrick Johnson post his 310 on a Facebook group and told him we should get some photos and get it on the cover of Cessna Owners magazine. A few weeks later we got it done! We met halfway, I suggested Nachitoches, LA, so I could get some good cajun food. Win-win!

Love those folding landing lights, so cool! Great shots!

Beautiful plane with a unique paint job that, while different, isn't off-putting. I probably would have carried the blue all the way back on the bottom of the engine nacelles to hide the oil/exhaust streaks, but that's a minor nit.

Nice pics!

steps -5kts?

what bank angle is the last photo? Is that a climbing turn or how do you do it?

Beautiful.
All I can say is "Wow" ... another great photo set. I love the last one with them banked ...

That's a great looking plane, beautiful work as always.
Beautiful plane and beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing!
Nice pics!
Thank you all! Always appreciate the nice comments!

As always, I appreciate you sharing your fine work. Nice looking airplane.

With the R model Cessna took this design to it's ultimate and perfect state. The extended nose to allow CG balancing, together with the extra 25 HP per side takes this design into perfection. Perhaps the Colemill and Riley conversions with the IO-550's (Riley? Dunno) is even better than the standard R model with it's IO-520's. Something not intuitive among those not familiar with these planes is just how capable they are as "bush" planes. They will get into and out of short and unimproved strips carrying weight far beyond its licensed limitations. Their spindley-looking gear is as robust as anything built by the Russians. Truly a plane that will go above and beyond the call of duty when its needed. The R model can hold as much as 203 gallons from the factory and range can be extended in critical situations by feathering an engine - the right one unless Colemill or someone else (Riley did) has come up with an STC for counter-rotating engines.

Later . . . for those who might think I don't know the one in the picture is a Q (or whatever it is), I do know that it's not an R.

The plane in the photo shoot is a Q.

Nice pics! The Q step retracts with a cable. Known from years of experience.

Now you can do the photo shoot again without that trailing appendage!

LOL, maybe someday! If you're plane is broke, I'm probably going to be the one to point it out. Open gear doors are what I usually find!

Sounds fair. But that Q is pretty enough to warrant a fully clean picture!
