Been working on a lot of projects I can't share yet. Finally I have one I can share! I shot pics of Justin in his green Waco last year at Blakesburg. This year he mentioned he didn't have air-to-air photos of his Beech 18, and we were off and flying!

Oh, and for the rest of you who think you can't fly off of our Cessna 170 Photo Ship, if Justin can do it in a Beech 18... just saying!

He followed my main rule of "Don't Touch Me". Not sure by how much though!

Gorgeous, just like always. Is that an E18? Square wingtips, low cabin.

My dad flew skydivers in a twin beech for a couple of years when I was a toddler. I've been in love with them ever since!

Thanks! I was told it was a D18S I believe, but don't quote me.

By the way, I love his gull-wing pilot's door. It's the only one I've seen like that.

It may have been part of a seaplane STC, but not a specific requirement. I’ve seen other Beech 18s on floats without gull wing doors, but they have an escape hatch on top similar to a DC-3.

Some of the cargo Beech 18s have those full wing doors as well so the pilot can get in/out when the cabin is packed with cargo.
 
As always, very nice photos Jack.
The E, H and G models had a 6" taller cabin with a larger eyebrow window over the pilots seats, the earlier versions had the smaller rectangular window.
The wing tips in the photos look like the PacAero wingtips, not really the non-tapered square tips, but squared off and taper.
Not sure of the mods that are required for float flying, but the E18S I flew had a full cargo door and a pilots door much smaller than the gull wing or overhead hatch. It also had HS props and Pac Aero tips for what I was told a 10,100# gross.

Thanks! It was a fun shoot. My photo pilot is good at keeping his eyes forward, but at one point I told him to look back. He started laughing. Justin was right on our wing!
