This kind of stuff is kinda sorta why some Captains at UAL don't like to use Channel 9.

That is what I was thinking too Greg. Channel is pretty cool, but far too often laymen have no idea what they are really listening too nor what it means. Flying is still very mysterious for the vast amount of the public. A quick look on youtube and you will see all kinds of stupid videos of people claiming near collisions. like this one

Can't blame them. Just like with so many other things, people think they know enough about aviation to make their own conclusions....
