Air France asking for gas money?

That must have been one heck of an announcement over the PA. Is this just one of the possibilities captains commonly face on international flights?

Haha. Some pilot somewhere sweating it wondering if the company will reimburse his AMEX before it comes due. :)
 
IIRC, it happened to RyanAir(?) in Europe a while back. They actually collected money from the Pax before it got fixed.

Prince Mogambu sent me a checkbook from the First National Bank of Nigeria and assured me there was $12MM in it, I only had to send him $1k to cover printing; perhaps one of those checks?:rofl:

Cockpit crew certainly agree, certain female cabin crew I have met when not airborne, different standards apply. :D

I have found that being an American traveling in France and French Canada, the women treat us as a prize.:yesnod:

Sure, a few questionable calls might have been made, but isn't Tel Aviv some distance away for a low fuel situation?
 
AF had a significant presence in nearby Beirut when I was flying there regularly. Are they still there?

The distance between Damascus and Tel Aviv is 133 miles...

You can do the math...( something Air France pilots are apparently incapable of doing...)

Air France is a "state owned" company controlled by a very powerful union...

It is almost impossible to get rid of an incompetent Air France employee ( the union won't allow it ).

Keep that in mind next time you fly with Air France....:D

Especially considering the tension between Syria and France (actually, all of the E.U.) right now. Kinda makes you wonder what kind of thinking (or lack of same) went into that decision. It almost seems too dumb to be just ordinary dumbness.
