a friend at work piped up about an article on Air France 447 in Vanity Fair ... of course, before he could say another word, he got an appropriate ration of crap about his choice of reading materials.

However, he brought it in yesterday and shared it. I just found it online today. Man, what a total CF ....

You can say what you like about Vanity Fair, but William Langiewiesche may be the best aviation writer out there today. He has written excellent accounts of several infamous aircraft crashes, and this article is one of them.

Vanity fair has been going for many years. The author has had several excellent articles in their mag over the years. He wrote a great one just after 9-11 concerning what went on at the World Trade Center. Excellent author as was his father.
