I had my first class medical deferred for ADHD and Depression in July of 2024. I got my first letter rather fast, about three weeks after my deferral. I called my AME the day I got the letter, and his assistant set up an appointment with a physiologist in my area. He asked me a lot of personal questions for about four hours, but I know it won’t matter because he isn’t FAA approved, so I wasted about a month of time on that appointment, and I sent that off with everything the FAA wanted except for my ADHD diagnosis, which I could not find and I looked for it for months even before going for my medical.

On November 2nd, I got a letter asking for information on my depression diagnosis and I turned them in later than I wanted to, my mom accidentally shredded them cleaning up the house. I waited about a week and a half for the documents and sent them at the end of November. I’m assuming the FAA will want cogscreens from me next.

I have done well for myself, I’m 21 years old, I almost have my associates degree, I have a good job, and I have no debt. I come from a family of pilots, and I’ve wanted to be the same since I was a little kid. Is it realistic to get my medical in 2025?
