I'm looking to add a SCFI privilege to my CFI ticket. To date I've only had to do the full FOI part of the oral once, since then when adding a new CFI privilege the task tables says reviewing the FOI stuff is not required (although I suppose an examiner could ask it).
But now I'm looking to add a privilege on my existing CFI ticket at the sport CFI level The sport CFI PTS does not include a task table. So I guess that means I have to do the entire thing including revisiting the FOI part?

For the same reason you add mei or cfi-g. More categories or classes of aircraft you can fly.

A "regular" CFI can teach in LSAs, so I am also confused as to why you want to do this. That may explain why there is no additional rating task table.

For instance I do not hold CFI privileges on my existing CFI ticket for powered parachutes. I'm working on my sport pilot rating in powered chutes now.

I think the OP is referring to adding sport instructor in the following categories:
powered parachute and/or weight shift control

My recollection from when I was working on Powered Parachute privileges to my pilot and instructor privileges is that it was pretty simple. I know it didn’t require additional testing on the FOI.

Turns out I REALLY didn’t like flying powered parachutes, so I never followed through on either.

Do you not just have to comply with the requirements of 61.429c, which refers to the same process for SP CFI's in 61.419, which is the "one instructor trains you and another endorses you" process to add on additional ratings (at the CFI-SP level)? There isn't a checkride requirement.

True but the instructor must follow the pts which includes confirming knowledge of the foi stuff. Unlike other acs/pts there is not a task table that says I can skip that section of the oral

The “there isn’t a checkride” seems to be in name only. From what I can tell from the pts the second cfi is required to do everything a dpe would have to do. And you can fall it and that does get reported to the FAA.

I believe there is a table in the CFI PTS that tells you what subjects to cover for existing CFI’s and add on CFI ratings.

That would be nice but the sport pilot instructor PTS lacks that.
