AC-61-65F is out for endorsements/plastic student pilot certficate

I called the RFS office about rumors of changes to the SI process and was told the only changes being made are to the student pilot certificate. Starting April 1st a student will be required to get a standard medical certificate from an AME and will then need to deal with FSDO for the student pilot credential. At least that's how I understood what I was told.
 
Stewartb, a quick read of the new AC says to apply for the student pilot cert via IACRA with a CFI or other people in authority. FSDO probably can do it also I am sure. Easiest with CFI approval. You are right about the medicate cert.
