Were I the enemy sniper, I'd take that as a sign I needed to pack up and leave the area post haste.
Personally, I hope that the Lance Cpl found him in his scope and showed him how to properly mark a target.

Not that hard to hit something with a rifle. Do it often enough, and you can get pretty good at it, even without formal training....
