A story for Veterans' Day

Like Reagan said, "If the story of his heroism was a movie script, you would not believe it."

Today I was in the jumpseat of a P-51 that participated in a tribute to veterans at Gordo and Carrollton, AL. About 25 planes participated, each flight stacked above the other according to their performance. The flight I was in included 3 P-51s, an F4U, a Yak-9, and a T-28.

On the way to the event this is the view I had out the window:

I took the picture with the pilot's Blackberry since I had left my camera at home in the rush to get to the airport to make the departure on time.

It suprised me, too. We tried a couple of shots "up sun" but they were too underexposed to see any detail on the Corsair.

I don't know what the camera resolution is on a Blackberry, but it obviously is enough...:wink2:
