I've been flying since the mid 50's. I have a daughter who is old enough to have a few grey hairs starting.
The last time I had her up in an airplane she was still in her mother's womb.
The years pass, a divorce, other priorities--now here we are years later and Penny is my only off spring who had never been up with me. Her children have had numerous rides including X-country, but never their mother.
Well Penny and family are down here Arizona on vacation. Lousy weather the first day--wind, lots of it, some CB, rain squalls, she must have brought it with her from Spokane, WA.
Today dawns CAVU wind calm. I open the hangar and bring the Tri-Pacer to the side of the house and tell Penny to get her shoes on.
The air is still as glass. We take a couple of minutes flying down Salome Road to I-10. A trip that took Penny & family almost an hour yesterday.
She took the controls for a while only getting nervous when a few heat thermals bumped us.
We returned to the airpark before it got bumpy and windy.
Gentle turns and a long final to touch down right in front of our hangar.
As we rolled out a neighbor got on the radio to say "Nice landing!"
I ask you, can it get any better than that?![Big Grin :D :D](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f600.png)
Cheers:
