A friend that is a great mechanic!
I don't know what I ever did that I deserve a mechanic friend like John McIntyre. We were working, in Vale, OR., on my Cessna 182 ( 1959 Model) Sat, Sun, and Monday Of this week. On sun. night I got word that my wife Essie had fallen in the bathroom in West Linn, OR. and my daughter had called 911 to take her to the hospital. I told John on Monday morning, and he offered to take me to West Linn in his 180 Cessna. We pressed on and finished the annual on my airplane and I flew to the Portland area later in the day Monday. He worked on Sunday to repair my Carb. Heat air box, and make a backing plate for the prop nose cone. He did the annual, packed the wheel bearings, replaced a O-ring in the left main brake, and had to furnish new seat stop ( I lost one), fuel cap gaskets, and probably something else I can't remember. He charged me $650.00 for my annual. He is the best friend/mechanic a pilot could have. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't still be able to fly!
