Talking about Ground School, is there a difference between Sport Pilot and Private Pilot?

If so, can PP Ground School be acceptable for SP (but, presumably, not the other way around)?

Once you take the written test, is there an amount of time you must complete Flight School, otherwise you'll have to retake the test?

TIA

It's been a dozen years since I took the SP ground school class. I was the lone SP student in a room full of PP students. As I recall 95% of the material was germain to both but there were a few differences. Every now and then the instructor would be presenting some material and then address me directly telling me the subtle difference for SP. As I recall you have 24-months from the time you pass the ground written to pass the check-ride otherwise you'll need to re-take the ground written.

You can study in any manner you want, as long as you get a recommendation to take the written. That is a cert of completion from a school or software program, or from your instructor after a review. The differences between the the body of knowledge you need for ppl vs sport is minuscule. All of that difference in the regs between the two (no night flying for sport. A sign-off to fly into a towered airport for sport. Limitations on aircraft (weight & number of passengers). That kind of thing.

As indicated above, the test results are good for 24 months. I have had a couple of students have to retake the test. Neither one of them ever got a certificate.
