I know, it's not much for many of you, but it's a milestone for me.

Somewhere in the pattern today, practicing autorotations, I passed my 500th flight hour. Not bad considering my first airplane lesson was in August 2001, and my first helicopter lesson in August 2004!

Wrong, Bob it is a big deal to me at least. Congrats! It is a great milestone. Here is wishing you many more safe aviation milestones:cheerswine:

Good on ya! I'm workin' on 300 hours, so 500 is a huge deal to me.

Congrats. You're now in the safety zone. >500 hours. Good job.

I just past 250 (actually 254.8). Not good considering I started in 1991.

congratulations!! to a 105 hour pilot, 500 sure seems a long ways away!

Hey, Bob, even though I've got almost three times that, I still remember those milestones. It IS a big deal! Congratulations!!!! You can be sure I'll be on here when I hit the magic 1500 (what's magic about it is that's the total hour count needed for the ATP).

I'd say it's a big deal, especially in such a short time. My first airplane lesson was in 1984, and I've only got 450 hrs. Congratulations.

Thanks, Judy! Good luck on your ATP.

My PP-RH checkride is right around the corner.

Ahem, well, what I didn't mention is that I will still be far from the checkride because I have very little night time. You need 100 hours, and I think I have something like 8. I just don't fly at night. I'm already way over the amount of cross-country I need, but those night hours are tough for me. If I ever really want to get the ATP (and I will, someday), I'm going to have to make a concerted effort to get those night hours.

But when I do for the ATP, and if I pass, you'll know about it.

I can really relate to that! I have very few night hours -- I really don't like the idea of a forced landing when I can't see anything. As I once told someone, I didn't survive Viet Nam to kill myself in an aircraft...
