We're back bigger and better than ever. Now being dubbed Mt Toberfest (the airport sits on top of "Mount Tobe") Our annual fall fly in is scheduled for Oct 21-23 at Waterbury Airport N41 in Plymouth CT. Fly in and spend the day or camp the whole weekend with us. Lots of food, folks, and fun, 50/50 pumpkin drop, STOL and Spot landing competitions, fly out safaris, and much more. We had over 40 aircraft visit over the weekend last year with even more drive and walk ins. As we firm up the itinerary I'll get it posted as well as the exciting list of sponsors and prizes and swag giveaways. Last year's weather was amazing and the foliage is always about peak this time of year. We would love to have you join us so round up your friends and fly in.

Looks like a good time, might stop by if I’m still up north.

We look forward to seeing you there Ron.

Cool! I don't remember why I missed last year, maybe an early bad weather forecast so I made other plans? Certainly going to try to get there this year.

The first year we had a rough start due to low vis but had an excellent unexpected turn out for Sunday. Last year's weather was spectacular. Finger's crossed for a repeat. Bon fire will be burning to warm up if you're flying open cockpit in.

The swag and prizes from our supporting vendors are starting to arrive. Be sure to come join us Oct 21-23rd at N41 in CT.

This week's additional swag and prizes include a huge gift basket stock full of gear from Flight Outfitters,

That looks like fun! Hope I can convince my wife to go.

We would love to meet you both. There were multiple couples that camped with us the last two years. One bit of info that may help convince her is we have access to a large bathhouse at Gentile's Campground directly adjacent to the airfield. Nothing like a bathroom you can't tip over and access to hot showers to help sweeten the deal. That said if your wife can't or wont come then it's a great guy's getaway too. One of the couples who live fulltime on field usually shows up with a bourbon and scotch filled golf cart after the camp fire gets lit. If you're into that sort of thing. I'm sure you noticed the Bearhawk in the first picture. He should be back again this year. He and his son won the pumpkin toss competition last year.

I did notice the bearhawk. Nice looking one too.

The sponsor prizes and swag keep pouring in. We're getting down to the last few weeks before this event kicks off Oct 21st-23rd. Don't miss out on all the fun.

One week away from Mt. Toberfest. Here are the anticipated schedules for the weekend subject to changes due to wx. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone there to share the fun.

Are you serving dinner on Friday as well?

Yes we will be serving dinner on Friday as well. If you’re camping overnight there will be a bonfire, desserts, beverages and popcorn for the aviation themed movie also.

Forecast is looking great and it is looking like we should have a great turnout. One of the great things about this event is we've gotten a wide variety of aircraft showing up - taildraggers galore, but plenty of nosewheel guys too (me included...) and even helicopters. Vintage, newer, experimental, ultralight, etc.

Food and fun aplenty and the campfire discussion is always great. Movie night is awesome and Jim's "beverage cart" UTV is always a plus!

Some additional details on the airfield. Any questions let them fly. See you soon.

Hi… curious for future reference, what type of facilities are there for air campers?

It was a GREAT weekend, and the organizers did a fantastic job and the weather was spectacular. Lots of people arrived on Friday, sat around the fire, and watched Top Gun 2. Saturday was the pumpkin drop, spot landing contest, and some flyouts. A lot of people left Sunday afternoon due to the Sunday forecast but quite a few stayed for another night of campfire and watched The Aviator. I counted 75 airplanes on Saturday afternoon though there were more than that. Lotsa Cubs of various flavors, a bunch of Maules, a few Skywagons, various other classic ragwings, a bunch of RVs, seven biplanes, a PT-23, an assortment of generic newer planes, a couple of ultralights, two weightshift trikes, one paramotor, one chopper I didn't take many pictures but here's a few. Nobody bent anything and nobody left hungry.

Hi… curious for future reference, what type of facilities are there for air campers?

Lotsa places to pitch tents, a portajohn, food, and access to the showers at the campground next door. A lot of people camped Friday night, not so many Saturday due to Sunday's forecast, though it didn't turn out so bad.

Dana, Happy you made it out and had fun. These events will help us improve the on field camping facilities to make the airport an better option for camping anytime of the year. There is tons of extra room for lots of tents. There are two tent platforms, two large fire pits and a huge stack of split firewood. We hope to build out a permanent toilet and shower facility so anyone can fly in and camp at any time of the year. Until then pilots have graciously been given full access to a year round bath house at Gentile's Campground directly adjacent to the airport off the departure end of runway 20. It's a short walk but they are heated, and have toilets, and quarter operated hot water showers.

Well we lucked out and other than near freezing temps overnight the weather was simply incredible. The turnout surpassed all our expectations and was nearly overwhelming. I watched the lines for food grow longer while the food piles dwindled but we managed to feed and entertain everyone all weekend. Over 100 aircraft of all types converged to this tiny grass strip on Saturday with nearly 40 staying to camp Friday night. What a weekend to remember. We got so busy on Saturday I wasn't able to take pictures of everything but there will be many more pictures and video to come. Overall it was an epic grassroots aviation weekend.
