3 Killed in Grand Canyon Copter Crash

Very sad.
My wife mentioned it to me this morning. We took the exact same flight last April, in a Papillon EC-130 (I posted pictures in the daily-pic thread). It was a breathtaking experience and we had a great pilot. She was very professional and we had a great time. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

My thoughts are with the victims and their families.

I also took the exact same Papillon EC-130 flight a couple of years ago. Looked up the tail number after the crash, but it wasn’t the one we flew in.

But still...

50 mph wind gusts? Maybe there was a payment due on that bird. RIP, I've taken a couple tours with them, seemed like a well run firm.

Flew on one a few months ago, forget the operator's name but they were out of that strip near the West end. Good pilot, nice machine, great flight.

Another sad day,may they Rest In Peace.

Wow...real bummer. I took a helicopter tour in Kauai and while it was super cool it freaked me out quite a bit. For some reason helicopters just scare me.

It's always a relief to know it wasn't 'our' pilot, but still tragic. Hopefully he will survive and be able to give an account of what happened.

"Authorities identified those killed as Becky Dobson, 27; Jason Hill, 32; and Stuart Hill, 30, according to USA Today.
The pilot, 42-year-old Scott Booth, along with passengers Jonathan Udall, 32; Jennifer Barham, 39 and Ellie Milward, 21. All four remained hospitalized with “severe” burns and other injuries.
Everyone on the helicopter except the pilot was from Britain, the newspaper reported."
