Hope to connect with a few PoA members this year. I’ll be there two or three days, not sure which ones yet.
Who else is going?
Who else is going?
Dude, 2022 started like... 77 or maybe 78 days ago... Where have you been... More importantly, how do I get an invite...
I thought it was the new post forum.Dude - this is the SNF sub-forum. Try to keep up.
I will be there from Wednesday until Saturday. I volunteer at the SnF Radio station and will be up "on the deck" a couple of hours per day interviewing whoever is on the schedule. So come on by!
If you don't know where the SnF Radio station is, get to the Sunset Grill and go East, it's right across the street with the wooden deck.
How thorough are the bag checks when going through security? I'm meeting someone at their camper and want to bring a bottle of hooch with me.
I would like to go but the end of ski season always overlaps SNF. This year would have been the closest yet with the mountain closing on the last day of SNF.
See those of you who are going at Oshkosh this year. Last year I saw 6PC and 310 Pilot. This year I’ll be working some at the Seaplane Pilots Association Booth and maybe on the One Week Wonder if Sonex picks me as a worker.
Cheers
Are you flying up or driving? Where do you stay?
Driving. No desire to go thru the Fisk Arrival. Stopping in Chicagoland on the way to see a friend.
Staying in the Dorms. Got a email that they are apparently full up.
Cheers

Unlike Osh, there aren't any bag checks that I'm aware of.
You need to come down, spend a few extra days and you could probably book enough work to pay for the whole trip easily.I've always wondered who goes to both SNF and OSH. I go to OSH as a photographer for EAA and I've had the invite to go to SNF. I live near Austin, TX, so it's actually a shorter flight to SNF than OSH, but I've never justified flying to both in the same year and so I choose OSH. I want to go to SNF some day, just not sure when.
Long way of saying... I won't be there this year!
Excellent!
Only had one day to spare this year. Of course it was Thursday….
Southern hospitality! No bag checks, no metal detectors, no ID required, etc. Pay your money, get an arm band, walk in. It's almost like living in a free country or something.
And on top of that...I actually feel safe when there. I would ride my bike from my camp site to the gate, lean the bike against the fence...no lock or anything...and zero worries. I don't think I'd be inclined to feel the same way at say for example Disney, where they have bag checks and metal detectors.....No bag checks, no metal detectors, no ID required, etc. Pay your money, get an arm band, walk in.
