Ok gang, it is time to plan for what will be the second annual spring fling in Dayton Ohio. Due to some unforseen circumstances it is back at KMGY this year. Last years event was at I73 (Moraine)

Looks like it will have to be Saturday, May 2nd.

Having it at KMGY isn't quite as handy as at Moraine because I have to ferry people from the ramp to my hangar.

I need a count to know how many are interested. Granted that my get together doesn't come close to the popularity of Wings, Gaston, or the infamous 6Y9 which I love, but it is a good chance to get together as better weather allows for more flying.

So if your interested subscribe to this thread and let me know and whether or not you will plan to attend.

Thus far we have as Maybe's and Tentative

Tim Winters
David
AJ
Smootie
Grant and Leslie

I'll text Duncan to see if he can make it. I haven't seen him in a couple of years. Great kid.

Negative, I'll be setting up at I73

I am based over at Moraine, and will check the SO's calendar to see if I am free that day. Plan on being at Funday Sunday the next day for sure.

Plane is reserved for May 2nd. Dana + 1

Can one visit Wright Pat from MGY?

It's a fairly short drive on the interstate, but you'd need a ride organized or a rental available.

The first year we held this we offered rides to anyone that wanted to go to WPAFB Museum. It turned out to not be fair to the driver though so we didn't do it the second year.

If you ever have a sat or sun in mind to go to the museum message me. If I have nothing else going on I would take you there and go back and get you. If I have nothing scheduled for the day I would just stay at the museum and see one of the million things I haven't seen yet.

Awesome thanks! I haven't been to the museum in years. I have some family in New Carlisle and Fairborn and have been trying to make it up that way to spend a Saturday with them and check it out again. They always come down our way so we never make it.

OK Bump,

Time to start planning. I have a few responses. I realize weather could screw everything up but who plans so come if possible?

I'll make an appearance!

We'll be maybes, pending a dog trip.

I'm out. Sportys is two weeks afterwards and I wanna do that one since I haven't been there since I got my certificates.

I think we are out. Going to be at the 99s' meeting in San Diego.

We would love to attend. 'Unfortunately' ;) we have to fly our plane from Florida to Michigan that exact weekend.

One day we will be able to come to one of the Great-Lakes- or Midwest-Meetings. We are looking forward to it.

Will be lots of airplanes flying into sportys for that.

I went to the one in 2012. Severe clear and everyone and their brother were flying in. At least 10 in the pattern when we came in, then a guy lined up on final for 22 as we were on final for 4. And a Stearman doing t and gs in the middle of all of it. It was a great time but damn was it nerve wracking getting in there

We like to change our participation from 'no' to 'yes'. :yesnod:

We planned our flight from Florida via New Orleans and Nashville. Now we figured out that we nearly pass KMGY on our way from Nashville to Detroit. Therefore, if weather permits we are in. :)

We are really looking forward to the meeting.

Sounds great

I hadn't discussed times yet. We have had people show up as early as 1100 and have had a late lunch between 1300 and 1500. People usually hang around and hangar talk till 1600 and after depending on weather. If you get there toward the end of the lunch I will throw some fresh burgers on the grille for us.

Thanks you for providing the details for lunch. We plan to be there at around noon. It's a 2.5 hours flight from Nashville. :)
