Gastons 2012 will be held 6/7/2012 ending on Sunday 6/10/2012. See you all there!

No, that's the other end of the world. You're confusing your end of the worlds.

Those 6's are upside down.
Not going to happen Ed. June is a bit warm but it's not that bad. That's just the way Gastons is. You can always take a jump in the pool, feels great.

Actually, this year was quite pleasant. It did get up in the mid 90s on Friday; then, a cold front came through and it was upper 60s early in the morning up to 90 in the afternoon. Really wonderful. Dallas is 100 today.

Best,

Dave

Sign me up!

Dallas weatherman says we should expect a cold before too long. He's thinking maybe as soon as mid-October. Actually, last night was the first time I've seen the weather guy throw in the towel. As the news guy introduced the weather guy on Ch 11 last night, he said "so what's the outlook for this hot weather, Larry?"

Mowry came on-screen and said "well, it's going to stick around for a few days" and then slumped a bit and said "well, for the rest of the summer, actually" and then recovered and continued with the short-term forecast.

This place is the shlts.

If I recall, when Grant was planning Sherman's march to the sea, he said words to the effect of they could keep everything west of Mississippi.

Ain't air conditioning wonderful <g>

Best,

Dave

Unless I'm abducted by aliens or my feline overlords have finally had me whacked, I want to come back and pester you all.

Yup. Turned mine to 75° while I was away and about died when I got home. It was promptly returned to 65°. When the grid goes down, you'll know who to blame. :D

Next year yet again does not interview with a church meeting I'm suppose to go to every year that's held the first weekend in June. After this year or next, that will change...will worry about that when the time comes.

For 2012, I will have to fight to get the time off...but as Greg knows, my dukes are up and ready. :yesnod:

I think this year is the most I've ever gotten the chance to visit with you and Greg much; I really enjoyed it. Hope your new position works out well and the move and home sale go smoothly.

Best,

Dave

That's why Dave, I didn't mind the small group...gave me more chance to talk to everyone there and get to know some people better.

That's not to say I wouldn't want those who couldn't make it this year to come back...would love to see them again at Gastons!

Sharon,

Where ya movin' to?

We are moving back to the Kansas City area...Missouri NOT Kansas...:)
Got a chaplain residency at one of the hospitals there in town for a year. The programs begins in the fall so we will be moving soon.

And moving back OUT of the KC area will require a very unique set of circumstances. I do NOT want to make a long distance move again.

So is your home base changing to MCI or will you still have to commute to ORD?

Good luck with the move!

First the Condon's...
Then us...
Now ya'll...

Will the last one left in Iowa please turn off the lights?

Are we the last ones? If so, we'll turn out the lights.

Of course, Iowa was only a long stopping place for us...been there done that...twice...didn't get the t-shirt either time...time to move on to KC for the final time!

Were is the switch?

I don't know... looks like somebody took it.

My apologies if this has been posted before, but what are the logistics for someone coming via commercial airliner and rental car, or is this even possible?

Thanks and though I have a lot going on right now, I have heard so much about this event it would be neat to make it next year. I probably won't know until a few months before - because a lot might change between now and then.

Often times people will fly commercial to a nearby airport and arrange for someone at Gastons with an airplane to go fetch them. Otherwise one could rent a car and drive there.

Oh, good, so it is possible to get there 100% on my own.

Can you tell me which airport(s) are closest / cheapest?

Thanks.

Is that another language for...

1. Open any website with VFR sectionals.
2. Find Gastons.
3. Zoom out until you see Class B or C airspace.

???

:)

Hell, I have a wall map that shows Mountain Home. No need for a chart. Memphis is probably the best bet.

Flying commercial to somewhere near, you'd shoot for Fayetteville, AR, or Springfield, MO.

Little Rock is nearest with really major air carrier service.

Or, of course, you can coordinate with someone else who's going there, fly to where they are and fly in the rest of the way with them.
