Nice report and pictures - you flew right over the area where I grew up and learned to fly gliders back in the 1980s (EDLF).

Very interesting, and nice photos of the landscape and airports.
I'm envious that you can land at a GA airport and just walk to a metro station to get to a big city. There can't be many places like that in the US - maybe just College Park Maryland KCGS, which isn't accessible to typical pilots because of the extra hassle of getting into the inner part of the Washington DC airspace.
