My list starting with a low budget. Piper Tripacer with good fabric, Piper Cherokee, Cessna 140-182, Ercoupe, Mooney, Piper Twin Comanche, Aerostar, Later Bonanzas F or A-36. One that is fun to fly and paid for. One that won't try to kill you.

Globe Swift

I don't need 10, just 3, maybe 4 if I want a twin.

Cub - fun flying
C170 -fun flying + some travel
Pilatus - travel mainly

Those three should cover it. :D

Maybe a C310R too...

C-206. I have gotten away with some serious flying in the bush, short very unimproved strips and off airport work and mostly loaded to max.

C-207. While not purposely, I have had maybe 1 or 2 icing encounters and survived. Load it up until the tail hits the ground. Stop loading, get a cargo guy to hold the tail off the ground, jump in and if the tail stays off the ground, we are good to go.

PA-31-350. Docile twin, the mac truck of the bush twin engines. They carry ice well.

I haven't owned one of these planes, just flown them in Alaska and they are very suited for that specific mission.

Marchetti SF-260 . . .of all the aircraft I've flown, it is the one I still dream about flying. . . given the means (more or less $300K, last I looked), it is the airplane I'd buy and fly until my flying time was done. It handles and performs as you imagined an airplane sholud, when you first began flying.
 
I've logged time in 48 types, with over a hundred hours each in most of the "usual suspects" of mainstream light G.A. Some handled better than others, and some had funkier systems than others, but I don't think there were any that I honestly didn't like. I've owned a Cherokee, a C-150, a Grumman-American Cheetah, a Bonanza, a Sport Cub, and now a C-172. Our mission and interests -- not to mention bank account -- have evolved over the years, so what was right for us then might not be right for us now. For a while we were able to have both a "go-places" airplane and a "play in the dirt" airplane. But that's not feasible now, and the 172 seems the best overall compromise for our purposes at present.

C172- is there a better ppl trainer? Forgiving and makes learning fun.
PA28 - what a great and predictable IFR trainer.
V35B or F33 Bonanza with a 550 in it - little speed racer. And so maneuverable.
SR22-G6 - what an awesome X country plane. Turn on the AC and turn up the music. Carbon edition please.
Cirrus -SF50 - entry level personal jet that is affordable
HJ420 - Honda Fit/finish quality and engine reliability
 
I love my Cardinal for the stability and the view. The only other airplane I would have is a Sportsman 2+2, maybe with a diesel engine.

First I have to say I am grateful for my little fully refurbished Cherokee. For the most part it meets my flying needs. If money were no object though, I would really love to have a Cirrus SR22.

The first 10 that are self-cleaning, need no maintenance, and come with a free lifetime gas card.

Which is most of them if you are a billionaire ;)

Love your list, but my "cash no object" piston single would be the new mooney ultra. I'd love to have an A36 or similar 6 seater as a 2nd plane.

1. 150 or 150 aerobat. Less ponderous than a 172. And more fun to spin by far.

Struck up a conversation with the owner of a polished warbird (with more surface area than my Aztec) on the grass at OSH last summer. Asked him the same question. He mumbled something about the President's immigration policy making it more difficult and expensive...

King Air and Beechcraft Baron offer nice mix of speed and room for error.
 
Hi my name is Mario and I am a new pilot,I bought a172 and the seats are worn out very uncomfortable and I can’t see over the dash where can I find seats for my 172L
