I saw that. It's cool to look around and try to ID the faces on the stand.

I was looking at the rooftops for one of the dozens of snipers that were supposed to be stationed around the event. All I could spot were cameras.

But, Clarence Thomas looks like he's asleep.

Yo-Yo Ma is taking a picture of Obama with his iPhone. :yes:

At the base of the media tower is a cop that looks like he's picking his nose, but he might just be on his cell phone. (Seriously, why do you answer that call at that moment???)
 
Looking at the way everybody's bundled up, and many with full face masks, this must have been a horror for the Secret Service!

I can imagine the radio traffic over the PD radio that day was BUSY. Cell phone is an easy way to contact just one cop to ask one question or direct him somewhere....of course, it may have just been a "Honey, you'll never guess where I am." or "Daddy I can see you on T.V.!" phone call too. :D

I'll bet the shapes in one or two of those open windows in that building are Secret Service snipers too. They are usually pretty good at keeping all windows closed near the presidents speeches.

There was a report on the entourage that followed then President-elect Obama when he moved through Chicago. The Chevy Suburbans have the windows open no matter the weather - and have people with guns behind each open window.

4 on the roof of one of the DOT buidlings behind Air and Space

Now, these are just people on a roof. No clue who they are. But, interesting none the less. Like the white tents on one of the other Ed buildings (at least, I think that is an Ed building).

That's amazing. It's like those CSI type shows - "Enhance image. Again. Again. Again. Again. See, he has a .038 carat diamond earring. That's our man."

Almost spooky... but still very cool. ;)

Edit: The white tents look like they might be for the news reporters. Looks like tripod legs for lights/cameras, and a few of them have very bright lights shining at what appears to be a person sitting in a "director's chair" for reporting. This is fun. It's like "Where's Waldo" on steroids!

I guess it went from "snipe" hunting as a kid to sniper hunting during inaugurations. :)
