cataract basic med

I am a PP on basic med and have cataract surgery scheduled this summer. After the surgery, what if anything do I need to do to continue using basic med? One pilot friend advised me to have the eye doc fill out and sign form 8500-7 and to keep that form in my logbook but I can't find any regs...
