Looking for info on less lethal/non lethal self defense products

Lcp 380 is a great pocket gun, and a p365 is a great carry gun. But I can’t say I’d start a new shooter on either, if I wanted them to get comfortable. And remember a lot of lady’s clothes just don’t have pockets, or they are very tiny. They also tend to not be fit to just hide a Glock 19...

Looking for info on less lethal/non lethal self defense products

Not in Kansas, OK or MO you don’t. The states don’t allow local laws to preempt state law regarding firearms. The firearms rules are far more consistent than knife, pepper spray, etc… Feel free to pm me for Kansas specifics. But getting the ccl just to have the option is prudent, it isn’t a...

That first type rating is no joke, get ready to drink from the firehouse. It is doable with some good study habits, and they'll get you thru it. Enjoy!

Engineer Ted's Hot Start Procedures for Injected Lycomings and Continentals

When shutting down, I put it at 1,000 rpm and remove the fuel from the equation. When starting, I reintroduce the fuel. I don’t know why everyone gets in and moves the throttle all over the place when they just had it at 1,000 during The shutdown. Flooding it and then doing a flooded start...

    Manifold pressure(aircraft) vs engine vacuum(automotive)

You probably know this, but for anyone reading. MP with the engine off will be the uncorrected pressure, so at elevation it’s going to be off from the reported atlimeter by about 1mp per 1k above sea level.. All

All things equal - which approach are you taking

Oh I agree on that completely, ask for what you want/need. Happens all the time, no big deal. Back to the original topic, I really like some of the newer GPS/ILS approaches that use the same fix names for FAF, etc. Makes the controller jobs easier, and less confusion then them clearing you to...

All things equal - which approach are you taking

With some avionics suites/installations, there is no difference in the button pushing between either approach. Not in the setup, the missed or anything else. Yes the needles turn green for ILS, but you also have to make sure the magenta sequences, so it really doesn't matter... You take...

How do perform short field landings for practical test

The FAA and many instructors used to teach 2, #1 is a more stable approach and what the FAA is looking for now. This is why the Airplane flying hand book and ACS are referencing it. Airspeed should be 1.2 x stall for short fields and 1.3 for normal landings.

Are these 2 statements in conflict? ATP Written Prep Question

Don't overthink the ATP questions/answers, especially the MATH problems. Many of them are poorly worded or just flat wrong.

Is ATP CTP a cash grab?

It’s not a cash grab as much as a government mandated class. If you think of it that way, it’s just as expensive and useless as you’d expect. The sim time is fun though, if you haven’t been in one. It’s also why the class is expensive, not the death by PowerPoint. No doubt both Colgan pilots...

Multi Training - Instrument Approach OEI Training

If you can't handle it enroute yet, it isn't time to start pulling it right before the FAF. It is a progression, unless you are doing bare minimum training.

    DPE PPL price

Let’s not forget that most of these DPEs aren’t just sitting around waiting for people to call, many have day jobs which enabled them to get the DPE status in the first place. Their time does has value, often in line with what they charge.
