    Crash near Castle Rock,Co

I wonder if that’s one of the Tecnam Twins at Aspen Flying Club? Sounds like they survived which is a great thing.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Small plane buzzes boaters in Colorado before crashing

After the FAA gets done with this fool I hope the owners/FBOs insurance company financially ruins them. We already have enough trouble keeping GA going without idiots like this… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Centennial - 182 Fatal

RIP to the pilot. :( It’s always sobering when this happens at my home airport even though I didn’t know this gentleman. This was a 182 with the King Katmai conversion with the 300 HP engine according to pictures. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Confused about sleep apnea screening

I’m a bigger dude and was not happy when I was sent for a sleep study. Of course the test said I had sleep apnea, so the next step was picking up the machine. I remember the day I picked up the machine (a Resmed Autoset 10 APAP) vividly- they let us “test” it for a few minutes to see what it...

Maybe it’s permanent. Grounding that is.

Nate, I am really sorry to hear about what you are going through but like others I am impressed by your positive attitude. I have seen that make such a difference in others dealing with medical issues and I am sure it will for you as well. I’m sending good vibes/prayers for the best for you...

How to perfect rudder work in the last 10 feet?

I found the use of a red bird crosswind simulator invaluable during my primary training. A few hours on that thing really helped me nail my sight picture/where to look as well as my muscle memory.

    Plane down in Mississippi-Sad

All 172’s I have flown (N,P,R,S) all have electric flaps. I’d say it probably takes about 1-2 seconds for them to transition from 30 to 20 degrees. Several years back as a newly minted private pilot I made the error of not immediately retracting to 20 degrees on a go around. The plane was...

ForeFlight version 8 has been released.

Add me to the list of loyal subscribers now looking into other options. Like others I didn't want logbook or syn vis, and have Pro. I'm not impressed with Foreflight right now, I think this is truly a dumb business move...

    ForeFlight 8

According to what I see on the Foreflight 8 page you need "plus" to get the new data driven map engine. I have been a Foreflight customer since the start and I think this is a bad move on their part. If Logbook is so great give me a reason to spend the extra $50, I just want the new data...

    ForeFlight 8

I have heard you will still have the choice to use good old sectionals. My concern is that the new feature seems to only be available in the "Plus" versions. I have the old "pro" version (georeferenced charts, hazard advisor) without Logbook as I already use myFlightBook and from what I can...

    United Pilot arrested

Here's a quote from an online article on the subject: " And as far as pilots go, Wallis was one of the best. Three years ago, he was added to the Federal Aviation Administration’s prestigious Airmen Certification Database. He was put on this list for meeting or exceeding the “high educational...

    How LOW have you've flown?

400ft msl along the coast in San Diego/La Jolla. One of the most memorable flights for this Colorado pilot so far! [emoji3] Sent from my iPhone with Tapatalk

    Christmas Laser Lights

I have a neighbor that set one of these up- it basically shoots hundreds of green dots onto the house. Somehow it got aimed towards my garage (wind?) and while backing out my eyes were greeted by those green dots, very irritating!

My Attempt at a $115 ADS-B Receiver Build for Foreflight

Interesting article about TIS-B on 978mhz that I found on the stratux subreddit: http://www.faa.gov/nextgen/programs/adsb/media/tis-b_service_change_summary_final_508_5-13-15-webv2.pdf Summary as I understand it- late in 2015 the FAA will begin transmitting all traffic on 978 even if you don't...

Ads-b what's the best bang for the buck?

Here's a link to another thread about a ~$110 solution to ADS-B In for Foreflight or other EFBs. Sounded pretty cool, so the parts are on the way to me via Amazon right now: http://www.pilotsofamerica.com/forum/showthread.php?t=85058 I also came across this announcement on the same reddit...

My Attempt at a $115 ADS-B Receiver Build for Foreflight

Very interested, but I want a flight report that this works from someone here before I go shopping on Amazon. :) I wonder what the Foreflight/Appareo folks think of this? They can't be that happy if it ends up taking off. I could see Foreflight trying to block this somehow in a future...
