It is truly relative! In my Bonanza going XC, if I see >200kts ground speed I get all happy. When I was going XC in the Eagle, if the gs dropped below 500kts I would complain "uh... we're never going to get there." Enjoy it when it makes you happy! :D

There’s no FBO at Caldwell so it’s pretty laid back. Lots of transient parking. Nampa has only a few transient spots but a great restaurant on the field. Gas is usually cheaper at Caldwell. Let me know if I can help.

Why not Homedale? I'm based at Caldwell, but Nampa is a good airport as well. What type of info are you looking for?

At night, low altitude with unknown friendlies below... non-starter. Helicopters or many other platforms are a much better fit. This isn't a job for a fighter.

As with everything in aviation.... it depends. Lots of info needed to know if it'll be a big issue. MSL? Slope? Obstacles? Prevailing winds? Surface condition? Can you see the entire runway on approach? How long is the runway? How much dog leg? How far down the runway does it...
