    Really?

This opposition to transparency is why I'm MIA...there is no hope for this mentality.

Hey old people, tell us what you can't do!

Old...yup. Things I can't do? I can't stand BS from anybody. Lie to me and you better be prepared to be called out on it. Sooooooo sorry if you can't handle it. (yes, that was sarcastic)

Unfair ridicule of Chem pilot work

You do remember that half the fleet is still running the 1950s tech, right? We're still dosing using heading, airspeed and stopwatch.

    Altitude over I-70

No it wouldn't be news the the FAA, they are the ones that removed them. The fact that you can find some only points to the usual lack of attention to detail from a government agency. HAND and HTH ;) ;)

    Altitude over I-70

No power plants allowed on charts, can't use them for visual navigation. Power plant safety concerns I'm sure (wink, wink, wink). Gliders are a real threat to power plants...

    Altitude over I-70

Other power lines murphey, the ones that take you to the old St. Vrain power plant. Much lower altitude than going over Corona. Yes, it's a longer trip but it's an out when you can't get over Corona. Side note with that route: 33V is a place to wait out wx if you have to do so. Don't plan on...

    Altitude over I-70

Former local but yes, sharing knowledge is part of the purpose for POA. I'm still in the inter-mountain west but a bit further south and as other have mentioned the wx is much different around here. A lot more classic mountain wx patterns rather than the confused mess of north/central Colorado.

    Altitude over I-70

SBS to FNL can be done at or below 10,500 msl. Follow the power lines...It's a route I've used many times when the wx goes DS. As murphey mentions, there's a lot of terrain so modify the route as you deem necessary to fly over the less bumpy stuff. As for other comments about a pass *only*...

Just write-off that 900 and buy a 175...everyone will be happier

Delta knocks tail off other plane on ground

Ummm, prolly not even a CDL (I can hear the maintenance control guys groaning and the pilot calling to ask for a swap as soon as I saw the pict). Last time I was involved in something like this we had a contract mx guy leave his pickup in D when he got out and the vehicle hit the nosegear and...

NA - Hey Aviation Forum, How do I find a leak in a pool pipe?

Only way to be sure of not needing more repairs is nuke it from orbit. (apologies to Aliens)

    SLC transition question

Not what you asked for but in the best POA tradition here is a suggestion: go north or south of the SLC Bravo. Avoid the tall bumps east of SLC...Evanston, WY is a decent fuel stop. Sometimes a crew car can be wrangled, call ahead.

every day and from all sides....it seems to be a human condition

    Pilot not qualified?

CA and FO have mountain airport guides on their ipads. Those are maintained so mostly current and accurate. In other words it's not too difficult for the crew to dig up the info. I'll avoid too much comment on OO other than saying lots of new people (continually) at all levels and maybe not as...

    Pilot not qualified?

It depends on the airport. KASE, gotta fly it to qual. The wide open valley stuff I think they just have to look at the pictures but that may just be a currency thing. KASE they gotta fly it to qual and be current. Anyway Skywest crew support tracks KASE qual'd pilots daily. Other mountain...

    TAF was a little off

Of course that's the nature of a forecast, uncertainty. It's always entertaining when the MBA types want to complain about a forecast and don't understand the true risk and costs involved. I was once told in a rather exasperated tone that the estimated return to service for an aircraft on...

    TAF was a little off

Wonderful comment from scottd. :) Consider a dispatcher working 40 or 50 flights a shift (less than 10 minutes to plan a flight when ya consider eating, peeing, and pooping). They don't have time to read comments on a forecast, just scan the TAF and go. If there is the possibility of MVFR then...
