    Air Tech Coatings

Yup. Certified aircraft require the covering/finishing process to be completed with the same system throughout. I should have been more specific. My brain is more wired for homebuilts…..

    Air Tech Coatings

Any experience out there regarding using Stewart system up to top coat, then shooting polytone over it? I’ve heard of it being done, just not so sure it’s a good idea as I’m in the camp that you don’t mix systems. I used Polyfiber on my Hatz and not dealing with the smelly stuff until paint...

    2023 Honda Pilot

We had a 2016 Elite. Only complaint was that the infotainment system was a bit wonky at times. Had a weird static to any music medium occasionally that could only be rectified by completely shutting the vehicle down. Didn’t happen often, but frustrating when it did. Was a common complaint for...

    Considering a RV-6A But.......

I absolutely love my 6A. Was fun to build and even more “funner” to fly. Only trouble is it’s spoiled me rotten. So easy to fly that it’s made my tw transition a bit of an eye opener. Pull the trigger on buying one. You won’t regret it.

If you left your 182 in a Marne, Michigan cornfield, the FAA would like to speak to you

Kinda like the scene in the movie where the baseball players come walking out if a cornfield. “If you build a runway, they will come…..”

    I cant find a hangar.

In Wisconsin, SW facing hangars are preferred to gain the benefit of the sun melting the berm of snow created by the snowplows and also preventing a big chunk of ice forming at the base of the door

Absolutely sucks loosing a fur baby

Just went through this with our goldendoodle, Cooper. He was 10, and succumbed to hemangioma sarcoma of the spleen. Named him after Gordon Cooper’s character in The Right Stuff. He was definitely the best dog I ever saw, and he is sorely missed…..

    Osh 2024 NOTAM is out

Could this result in congestion at Green or Puckaway lakes? I envision airplanes trying to find a slot to get into the conga line when there is not enough spacing. Tempers may flair.

    Pocket knife: Weird or normal?

Gibbs rule #9: never go anywhere without a knife. I’ve had many instances where having a knife, aka tool, came in handy. People need to back off and get over it.

Road Bump in Buying a Plane - No Place to Put It

I must point out that this type of scenario is not limited to homebuilt airplanes.

Road Bump in Buying a Plane - No Place to Put It

Thing is, the majority of homebuilt construction is commonly done at home…thus the name. Final year tops is done in a hangar, and then, as was pointed out, it *is* an airplane. EAA crowd??

Alternatives to Zip Ties in Engine Compartment

Another way to prevent zip ties from abrading motor mounts is to wrap the motor mount in the area you intend to place a tie with a couple layers of silicone tape. Then zip tie at that location by actually using two ties. One zipped around the wires and also through the loop made in the second...
