    Question about FAR/AIM...

You can download them in ForeFlight and the nice thing about it is that they keep them updated for you. They are also searchable and you can highlight and bookmark pages as well.

Best plane for first time plane owner?

Here are a couple of Piper Arrows in your price range. The handle just like Cherokees but faster and you can get lots of complex time for your resume. I really like the one I’m flying. The gear is dead simple on these so it shouldn’t add to your annual costs.

Best way to create and use custom checklists (electronic vs paper)?

I made a PDF that I put into the ForeFlight documents section. I have my iPad horizontally mounted so it’s sideways. It’s about 10 pages and has all the V speeds and power setting as well.

Triple 4, double charlie - does it annoy you?

Our first plane was 1EE and it never occurred to me that it was funny until your post.

Triple 4, double charlie - does it annoy you?

Richard Collins used to annoy me in his Sporty’s videos by referring to his Cessna as Forty RC. (like the cola). It seemed weird to have a training video use non-standard call sign phraseology.

Don’t all manly men carry one of these at all times?

Good place to hide a spare key on plane?

On the Cessna we taped it to one of the inspection plates. Since there are around 40 of them, chances of anyone finding the right one are slim. On the Pipers we tape one under the empennage fairing or on the ELT. But almost any Piper key will open the door. On both the starter key is different...

    Rachet tie down question

Tiedown ropes capable of resisting a pull of approximately 3,000 pounds should be used . Manila ropes should be inspected periodically for mildew and rot. Nylon or dacron tiedown ropes are preferred over manila rapes .

How important is switching to Apple OS?

I have had four iPads and never bought the cellular model because I’ve always used an external GPS. Now that you get GPS and so much more info from ADSB-In it’s even less necessary to have built-in GPS. I’m about due for a new iPad since mine is now 8 years old and with only 32 GB of memory, I...

Multi engine time in AirCam aircraft?

Almost Mikey. On every flight someone must be qualified to be PIC. Since he does not have a tailwheel endorsement for a tailwheel aircraft, he cannot ACT as PIC. If he is not qualified to be PIC then he is a passenger. Logging PIC time does not require one to be acting as PIC. IF he is sole...

Multi engine time in AirCam aircraft?

Wrong. Rated is for category and class, and if required, Type. As long as someone else is acting as PIC you can log any time that you are sole manipulator of the controls in an aircraft in which your are rated. A person without a tailwheel endorsement, high-performance endorsement, complex...
