    NOLA

We used to have lots of trades shows years ago for my business in New Orleans but after lots of problems our event coordinators have canceled all future shows there. All kinds of problems.

Why chock the wheels when in a hangar?

Might as well put the canopy on the plane too in the hangar if you got that much free time.

Why chock the wheels when in a hangar?

Loose chocks which is what the OP I think is talking about. Wheel stops which are permanently placed are a separate subject. I notice those who chock wheels in a t-hangar also put cowl plugs, pitot sock on and lock the plane. These folks typically wear both belts and suspenders.

I bought an airplane. It was a lifelong dream. 6 months later, I'm out. (Reddit post)

This has nothing to do with government workers. These are people receiving entitlement money. As a result they don’t have to work. This money is from the government. It is not tied to any output in production. Thus it is inflationary. Don’t know who Milton Friedman is do you?

My actual OSH costs — a little surprising

Van, nothing personal but your accounting is pretty biased if your intent is to justify cost of flying over driving to OSH. And I don’t know where to begin to explain. Fuel at $10, how much will you fly?

Purchase fuel option like the big airlines do and lock your price in! (Or you can buy a big tank and fill it up at today’s price and avoid the coming 10 fold increase). 100LL has a decent shelf life.

    Garmin 430 to IFD 440

But for those of us with a GNS430w waas, the avidyne IFD440 should be a drop in replacement (same tray and all). Can’t speak for other connecting instruments such as a GFC500 auto pilot. That might not work with it. The IFD has to do the GPSS steering and get it to the autopilot to make the...

When to pull throttle idle on landing.

If winds calm then yes, power to idle over the numbers and glide in. You should hear the stall horn just at touchdown if done right. But in crosswinds, strong headwinds, or tailwind (gulp!) keep some power in for control authority. Watch your airspeed. Another trick is power to idle over...
