How Accurate Is The Crash Scene From Flight

HA! HA! HA! I saw a clip from that series on youtube where a fist fight breaks out between the repo man and the owner of the plane where the latter bloodied up the former's face resulting in the sheriffs department having to get called. Though a lot of the comments said that the whole scene was...

How Accurate Is The Crash Scene From Flight

***DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE MOVIE AND DON'T WANT SPOILERS***** IMO the movie was pretty bad. I did not like the ending, sure I get the whole character arc about him finally admitting that he has a problem with alcohol and seeking help, but I will say that going confessing and...

How Accurate Is The Crash Scene From Flight

Yes you are absolutely right, but I will also say that if you listen to recordings on YouTube obtained from the CVR after a crash, whether or not the pilots survived both of them sounded calm and professional all the way up till the crash. I feel that the CO-pilot's behaviour in that movie was a...

How Accurate Is The Crash Scene From Flight

Accurate when compared to real life. Some movies and TV shows are very accurate when compared to real life an example that comes to mind is medical dramas, they use real medical practices. I was watching House M.D (I think) with a friend who is in the medical field and he told me the way they...

Not a Pilot...At least not yet but wanna hear from you guys

Thanks for pointing that out, you are right. That being said I do hear from my friends working there that there are still inefficient and bureaucratic policies in place similar to what one would expect to find working for the government. Also, Nepotism is rampant, something that government jobs...

Not a Pilot...At least not yet but wanna hear from you guys

Thank you so much for that...I find that the government webpages are way to wordy and are probably written by bureaucrats who don't realize that other people need to understand what they wrote

Not a Pilot...At least not yet but wanna hear from you guys

Thanks for all the replies guys really appreciated! IK the rules for Canada and the US are really similar, but I think I read somewhere that to maintain your license in Canada you had to perform a set number of take offs and landings. Any insight on that? Or maybe its just a Canadian rule

Great Response, super informative! I feel I am in the same boat as you in terms of studying. I don't excel in a classroom setting where I have to memorize a textbook. How did you do it, any advice? Also I totally feel for you on the issue of nepotism....Up here Air Canada used to be government...

Hi Kath thank you for your response...Just out of curiosity what field of Academia are you in? For the point you brought up in number 4, I will say that I feel like I can qualify for a category 3 medical license which is what is needed for a PPL in Canada. I am not colour blind, have no...
