So - how is this done?

It's possible that the original max gross was specified in order for the aircraft to meet one-or-more performance parameters, rather than limitations with the powerplant or airframe structure. It may be possible to increase max gross safely, without airframe or powerplant modifications, as long...

How and where to register my plane? IL or TN?

A shares sale of the existing LLC is a roll of the dice. Personally, I wouldn't want to assume the potential debts and liabilities of the LLC prior to your ownership of it. What if someone did something stupid in the airplane previously, and has been kicking around the idea of a lawsuit, but...

Congrats, good looking plane, I hope you enjoy the heck out of it!

    Boat or Airplane

Maybe it's more my frustration with the knuckleheads at BPS' service department. Every time I take it in, I request them to give it a good looking-over bow to stern (and state that I'm happy to pay the hourly labor rate) in hopes of heading off any emerging issues or catch any undetected...

    Boat or Airplane

I've owned several boats over the years. Currently a 21' bass boat with 225 outboard. Total pain in the butt, would not recommend.

Just commented on MOSAIC, have you?

An excellent answer to your question at the EAA link below. https://www.eaa.org/eaa/learn-to-fly/comparing-pilot-types I think you're getting confused between different (albeit inter-related) topics. The reference to 2006 implies that you're talking about BasicMed, rather than MOSAIC...

Just commented on MOSAIC, have you?

With regard to the Sport Pilot certificate proper, yes, IFR is beyond the intended scope the certificate. The Sport Pilot certificate was intended for flying as a leisure activity, a hobby if you will, in good weather, ie: VFR conditions. Those are not Sport Pilots. They are higher...

Just commented on MOSAIC, have you?

Agreed. When I take a step back and look at it objectively, I think IFR is beyond the intended scope of the Sport Pilot certificate. But if someday IFR becomes a reality for Sport Pilots (and Private-or-higher exercising Sport Pilot privileges), I wouldn't be mad about it.

Is A Army Nurse Able To Receive GI Benefits For Flying...

I don't know off-hand whether nurses qualify for direct commissioning in the same way that physicians, lawyers, and chaplains do. If not eligible for direct commissioning, they would need to complete a commissioning program of some sort. If she had already graduated from college with degree...

Just commented on MOSAIC, have you?

Yep, I commented immediately on 07/23/2023, the first day of the comment period. VS0 perhaps, but not VS1, according to publications I've seen. The NPRM uses VS1 for determining stall speed.

Is A Army Nurse Able To Receive GI Benefits For Flying...

GI Bill benefits are a little different for commissioned officers vs enlisted. Enlisted become eligible for full GI Bill benefits after 36 months of active duty service accrued after 09/11/2001. Commissioned officers become eligible for full GI Bill benefits after 36 months of active duty...

Warning: Insurance renewal and medical type

With both BasicMed and "DL 'medical' for exercising Sport Pilot privileges" as well-established regulatory schemes at this point, companies that pull any shenanigans will likely find themselves going the way of the dinosaurs, as pilots take their patronage elsewhere.

    Logo Design / T-Shirt

I've used CustomInk.com in the past, for adult rec-league softball jerseys. Lots of "no minimum" shirt options.

    getting a license but older

This right here. And after MOSAIC takes effect, Sport Pilot is going to be an even better option than it already is.

Aeronautics & Space stuff, if I had to guess. :D

    E-LSA 50NM Restriction?

No, no it's not. Get that amended by FSDO and/or DAR.

Agreed, it's mostly in common language, not legalese.

    Take Action! MOSAIC comment period.

In the words of retired FBI Hostage Negotiator Christopher Voss, "everything in life is a negotiation." They propose 54, we ask for 60, final rule is somewhere in the middle. Worst case scenario, it stays at 54.

    Take Action! MOSAIC comment period.

I agree, but for whatever reason, FAA seems hung-up on using VS1.

    Take Action! MOSAIC comment period.

While I tend to agree that any NPRM formal comments are unlikely to get much traction, I went ahead and submitted a formal comment earlier today anyway. I suggested that VS1 to be increased to 60 knots. This would help make more (most?) PA-28s eligible under MOSAIC, since they're the Piper...
