[NA] Solar power system cold calls all of a sudden?

We stopped answering the home phone 10 years ago since we both had cell phones. Only used it for fax and maybe internet? Then we turned off the landline 5-6 years ago. Don't miss it a bit, especially the sales calls. Only bad part is I am not in the phone book any longer...lol

How to R&R cylinder on Lycoming

This is the stud tool that I would recommend, but I have never messed with any aircraft engine studs. Our racing engines everything was held together with studs.

    Carb ice, or more?

Use carb heat often and trust your aircraft is my suggestion. I run a power flow exhaust which contributes greatly to carb ice. I experience it almost every flight all year long especially descending if I don't use carb heat. But I have it had climbing out and during cruise out of the blue all...

ElectroAir EIS 61000 Start Problem (Dual Electronic Ignition on Lycoming O-540-J3C5D)

The only thing I like about my dual mag is it starts with one turn of the engine. The local mechanic said it is because both mags are being fired by the impulse coupler. Yup it is a big PIA sending it in every 500 hrs for a inspection, better than the alternative... Fresh ready for another 500...

    Paint, clear, or bare wheels?

I bet I could. I had Lista cabinets in a race car trailer that I sold long time ago. Those would be nice in your shop. I never dreamed I could afford to have them in my shop. Hell I couldn't afford them in the trailer for very long. lol

    Paint, clear, or bare wheels?

I have blasted lot's of stuff with coal slag after the days of silica sand. It is/was available in several grades. Glass beads can get stuck in aluminum if and when they crush and shatter. I have been blasting since early 1980s when I tried to restore my first car. I also have used urea plastic...

    After/Back Fire Causing Loose Exhaust?????

I could see it happening, but not with blow pruff metal gaskets. I doubt it was because of back fire. Something is not adding up. That's all I got right now.

    Paint, clear, or bare wheels?

Shortly after I did these wheels I cleaned up my table tops, they had 20 years of corrosion on them.

    Paint, clear, or bare wheels?

Definitely don't leave them bare imo. Mine were the 2 piece McCaullys. I pressure washed them clean with a steam cleaner. Then used a bead blaster to remove all old paint with coal slag in it. I don't use glass beads on aluminum. I repainted them with a spray can from the auto parts store. I put...

    Exhaust cracked

That seems like a pretty fast delivery? When I ordered mine I waited something like 6 months for delivery and got a discount for waiting.. My old exhaust was is still good so was not in a hurry for it. The last time I had the exhaust off I noticed this. I thought it was a flame arrester, but...

    Exhaust cracked

Love my Power Flow exhaust. I now have 1400+ hours on mine. It is on my second engine. I remove it about every 10-14 months to re anti seize the slip joints. Well worth it. It performs great on my 0-320. Everyone comments on how good my aircraft sounds. It will climb at close to 1000 ft minute...

    Plexiglass Windscreens - polishing

It is not hard to do even for a beginner with the right tools and materials. I didn't know what I was doing and it came out great. Absolutely no waves and I don't think I removed much material at all? Scratch Off 4 grades of polish. Took me about 2 hours with rest in between polish's. I did...

    Decaf coffee [NA]

I switched to decaf about 3 months ago, better for me. I drink coffee for the taste not for the caffeine. It would really get me wound up at work and that was not good. I stopped the caffeine for my blood pressure mainly but also it helped me over all. I drink a couple cups decaf before bed...

    Plexiglass Windscreens - polishing

Yes I have done it twice now on windscreens and on the side windows. Get the kit "Scratch Off" It has 4 grades of polish and pads. You supply a drill. Worked well and hard to screw up.

    Fairing

My suggestion is to heat them up before you fit them for the first time. Then paint them after you have them fitting to your wheel pant and gear.

Tire time! Goodyear Flight Special II or Airhawk, $50/tire difference. Which one?

I have used both, Airhawks run smoother and I would go Airhawks.
