Check out this thread- you may find an easy solution if its just the connector. https://miscsolutions.wordpress.com/2011/02/16/troubleshooting-old-century-autopilots/
One thing about shifting directions every 4 years- a friend is a very high level NASA guy- he complains because their projects are typically 10+ year projects, that get re-worked or cancelled or goals changed with every new administration which massively reduces efficiency.
Re-read the law again- how in the world is examination of ones anus or noting tattoo location and type indicative of piloting ability? Whoever wrote this into the law was an imbecile.
Thanks for the followup. The other sites are nice although not as easy to use as SkewTLogPro. It looks like most remaining sites are powered by SHARPpy- a free python program. I downloaded it and it is semi-useful, but still not as adjustable as the original NOAA app. If someone could get the...
Looks like NOAA updated their site- they closed access as the information was not being maintained and was not designed for operational use- which several apps were using it as. No plan for restoration of the site. They mention the data is available elsewhere- I have looked, the actual model...
Just....Wow! I loved that page. There is always something to learn from an accident and waiting on the NTSB to give a final report 3 years from now nobody will remember it. Surprised FB gave it the death penalty without even a comment period or possibility of review. I guess we're learning there...
As Scott mentioned above, they are likely using the 508 nonsense as cover for the real reason they are shutting down- that for profit companies are scraping the data and selling the results for operational use instead of research.
Although very few SI are denied in the long run, the time it takes to go through the process seems to be a major deterrent. The FAA blames this on not having enough physicians to review SI claims. As a physician that wants to help my fellow pilots, I would be willing to do some of this part...
I love the concept of the checklist in Foreflight. But since many of my IFR pre approach checklists require referencing the plate in foreflight I find switching back and forth distracting. I may would like Goose as I could pull it over with multitasking but not sure since I'm portrait mode on my...
Anyone have experience with Douglas Interior 2-way stretch faux leather, especially any comparison to Naugahyde and Ultraleather? I don’t like the feel of the Naugahyde samples. The Ultraleather feels great but the Douglas is slightly cheaper. Am waiting on samples from Douglas Interior but they...
10 Flaps after IAF and maintain 120kt (130 Vlo). Gear down at FAF, power back and maintain 110 on final segment. Depending on breakout and runway length, 25 flaps at 200' for landing vs just leave at 10.
IMO the A20 is better than the A30 but the A20 is no longer in production, and I picked up one of the last few from the last shipment at OSH last week from Sportys. I don't like the Lightspeed, but my wife does, more about how it fits her head.
went to Honeywell booth to check out the KX155 replacements. Was told verbatim what I was told at last years OSH. "Shipping in December" KX165 replacement to follow next year. That is exactly what they said last OSH 2023 also.
Gust fronts don't show up on ADS-B, or on board radar. Since it hit 20min from landing, you may have just avoided it. Had friend that did that, he made it down but didn't have time to put his plane in the hangar before baseball sized hail totaled it. It sure is tempting when you can see the...
