    New panel in my 172

Getting a new panel in my 172N. Most of it was original ARC from 1978. Here’s what it looks like now: Planning on a G3x, G5, GMA350c, GTN650xi, GNC215 and GTX345. Found this panel designer on Hangarflying.com which rendered the following: Decided against an AP. Am I missing anything else?

    Tug advice.

I’ve used the Lil Sherman tugging my 310 for years. I bought it used from another 310 owner. It works great, and simply runs off of golf cart batteries.

    Why would avionics backlighting pulse?

My first thought would be inconsistent power source, such as a voltage regulator issue, weak battery, or failing alternator. Good luck.

    O-320 H2AD carburetor PN?

May have found the answer, or at least got closer. When looking at the 172N IPC, the PN for my SN 172 is LW13659. When looking at the Marvel Schebler website, that crosses with the MA-4SPA PN 10-5135, which is the PN of the carb currently installed.

    O-320 H2AD carburetor PN?

My 1978 172N is going through annual now, and we may need to replace the carb. It’s the O-320 H2AD -76 series. I’ve got conflicting PNs from what the Lyc illustrated parts catalog calls for, and what’s on there now. The existing carb is Marvel Schebler MA-4SPA PN 10-5135. The Lycoming IPC...

What does it cost to sue an airport?

I was just there last week and RON. Nice airport, busy, plenty of runways, FBOs, flight training, etc. The area has plenty of money. I’m sure a drop in the bucket for the airport.

Tool box recommendations for future A&P mechanic

JC Whitney got bought out about 10 years ago. I’d ordered from them starting back in the 80s, visited the Mother Ship off the south side of I-80 with some buddies in the late 90s. It seems carparts.com is their successor.

Is there a Pt135 for Dummies?

At the end of the day, your company owes you all of this training that will answer all of your questions. If you’re in the position of building the training (ie. DO), you may be in over your skis. Nothing is insurmountable, it will just be a lot of work and doesn’t happen overnight.
