Problems wit AeroCruze 100 install (lack thereof)

It seems like Dynon has given up no getting their AP's approved for certificated aircraft.

Anyone have an Aspen E5, Trutrak Vizion (Aerocruze 100) and and Avidyne?

Thanks for that. But it appears that Label 101 (Selected Heading) isn't in the low speed labels, isn't that the one thats used for the heading bug on the Aspen, which the Trutrak follows? OR does the Aspen simply retranslate the heading bug selection into left/right steering calls to the trutrak?

Anyone have an Aspen E5, Trutrak Vizion (Aerocruze 100) and and Avidyne?

That would be great if you could. That document shows theres very little labels passed on low speed, while all of them are passed on high speed. It looks like if we went to low speed, we'd loose the heading bug tracking that TruTrak currently does. My setup is this: Aspen E5 TruTrak Vizion...

Anyone have an Aspen E5, Trutrak Vizion (Aerocruze 100) and and Avidyne?

This document? https://aspenavionics.com/pdfs/991-00159-001_%28_%29_TN2023-01_EFD_E5_SW_V2.12_Transmitted_ARINC_429_Lbls_.pdf It appears that I'd need high speed, not low speed.

Anyone have an Aspen E5, Trutrak Vizion (Aerocruze 100) and and Avidyne?

So you guys are saying that in 2.12 they actually included the labels for the TruTrak to get altitude preselect/bug information from the Aspen?

Aspen firmware 2.12 unlocks Altitude select for TruTrak / Aerocruze 100

Saw this announced: https://www.avweb.com/avionics/faa-approves-aspen-pro-max-garmin-gfc600-integration-software/?MailingID=1217 Aspen finally released a firmware for the EFD1000 and E5 units that FINALLY allows us to use the altitude selector on the Aspen to send desired altitude information...

Where does ForeFlight source its fuel prices?

It's done via user submissions. I think a single user submission is held as pending for a while, unless another user submits the same price around the same time frame then it gets "auto approved" and updated. I've submitted new prices for a few local airports and noticed the price would...

Money not being a deciding factor...210 vs Cherokee 6/toga

I usually plan for 150kts, but typically see 157 - 159 in cruise. Burning about 10.5 gph. She's pretty efficient and speedy for her width :-)

Money not being a deciding factor...210 vs Cherokee 6/toga

This is one thing about the Cardinal that really keeps me from "upgrading" to a larger airplane.....its crazy wide cabin at 48", and the roundness of the door bulging also gives more hip room.

Money not being a deciding factor...210 vs Cherokee 6/toga

So, coming from a 177RG, how does the cabin width compare in an A36? One thing I love about my 177RG is the massively wide cabin at something like 48". It makes fitting two wide people in the front a non-issue and we all have plenty of shoulder room and "leg sprawling out" room. Whats the...

    Comfortable Ownership?

Retracts. I’ve been using Joe Ruck for the past 4 years he’s beat anyone that’s quoted this same policy and coverage. It always comes down to retractable gear. A normal straight leg 177 would be half that rate I pay. Avemco couldn’t even get lower. I have it insured for 180k hull value

    Comfortable Ownership?

@RyanB Here's a breakdown of what it costs me to keep my 177RG at KFGU: Yearly Costs: Aircraft Note: $5100 Hangar: $3600 Insurance: $3400 Annual: $3000 Jeppesen Updates: $500 Surprise MX: $1000 Total Yearly Fixed costs: $16,600 Hourly Costs Fuel: 60 / Hour Oil and MX: $25 Reserve for...

Anyone have an Aspen E5, Trutrak Vizion (Aerocruze 100) and and Avidyne?

My Trutrak has never performed well in holding altitude. I've worked with a few shops trying to get it to fly right, and it just seems ti want to slowly porpoise when trying to hold an altitude. Toss in the CONSTANT complaints of needing trim, and I really don't like to engage the stupid...

Anyone have an Aspen E5, Trutrak Vizion (Aerocruze 100) and and Avidyne?

I've been flying behind my Aspen E5, TruTrak, and IFD540 for a while now, and I haven't been happy with the integration, and was just wanting to poll the group to see if any updates or news has been released in a while. My install doesn't have the ACU from Aspen, but I do have GPSS...

    SE $100 Hamburger - Saturday, Jan 8th

I just saw this thread :-0. IF my Cardinal wasn't in annual right now I'd try to get out to meet some of y'all. Last time I ate at the Runway Cafe @ GMU it was actually pretty good.

Problems wit AeroCruze 100 install (lack thereof)

I am a Trutrak early adopter and I whole heartedly agree. This is not “fine” behavior. It’s annoying because you have no idea of how much trim is going to be needed when you disengage if you simply just ignore the trim warnings. It sucks especially after paying the money to buy and install it...

Pay to fix an Insight Strikefinder and upgrade it?

Yeah. I don’t think I would pay for a new one to be installed from scratch. But repair was cost effective and probably worth the little effort to get it going.

Pay to fix an Insight Strikefinder and upgrade it?

I mean I did at least share the fact that I decided to pay to fix my strikefinder and I do still enjoy using it to this very day. Hah

Pay to fix an Insight Strikefinder and upgrade it?

As a side note and update (I’m the original poster). I wound up paying to have my strikefinder fixed. I absolutely love it. It’s well worth the money. I use it to augment the radar information I get from FISb, and it’s been very useful.
