    Tug question....again!

Thanks. I can back my SeaRay on a long trailer and my jet skis on a short trailer, so should be able to handle it. Will look at that option.

Thanks. I’ve seen the lazy Susan style. They look pretty good. Thanks for the tip

    Tug question....again!

Ya know, I used to think the pilot community was beyond social media responses like this. I was looking at options and asking for advice on a site I very much respect. All levers of people ask all sorts of questions. Several people had told me that the golf cart/riding mower/tow bar could be...

Little Star V Thrust Tug - Dewalt drill powered

Like minds. Yea, that's my latest plan. I was going to take the tug to a local machine shop and see if he can remove the old collar and replace with a new one. I need to measure the metal collar on the new drill to make sure I order the right size. All the new DeWalt drill models seem to now...

    Little Star V Thrust Tugs

Thanks, but no, the chuck is also locked open in the original drill. I need a drill that will fit the 1 11/16th shaft collar or get a new collar and have it welded on. I think the latter is going to be my best option.

Does anyone have tug bar like this?

Great idea. If my collar ID is 1 11/16th, just have it ground down. Thanks...I'll talk to the machine shop.

Does anyone have tug bar like this?

My serial number is 316. Just a few from you. Would have thought they would be pretty close in specs.

Does anyone have tug bar like this?

Got a DCD998 and no luck. The metal piece on the drill was still too large for the collar on my tug. My guess is that the tug folks just used different sized collars based on whatever drill they were using at the time they made it. Per the attached pic, the drill that fit my collar was DC987...

Does anyone have tug bar like this?

Can you do me a favor and look at your metal collar and see what it has etched into it? As you can see from pic below, mine has 1 11/16th which appears to be the ID of the collar. Just comes loose with an allen wrench. No need to remove or disconnect the drill. My guess is that the tug...

    Little Star V Thrust Tugs

There has been a discussion on this tug in the past, but thought I would start a new thread. The Little Star V Thrust tug was sold exclusively by I think Sporty's until they went out of business (Little Star). It's a DeWalt drill driven tug that works great for small aircraft. I have a C172...

Little Star V Thrust Tug - Dewalt drill powered

Well, bad news. I just got my 998 from Amazon and it doesn't fit the metal collar. Still too small. The collar for my tug has 1 11/16th stamped into it. I wonder if they put on different collars for different versions of drills they used. Last step before a spend a couple grand on a new...

Does anyone have tug bar like this?

Another question please. I found one on eBay, but it looks like a key chuck and not the one you turn to tighten. Does it work with the key okay? Also, can you still get original OEM batteries and not the China generic?

Does anyone have tug bar like this?

Two questions please. What is the model of the 36v drill driver? I have found that most of the new DeWalt's now have a different sized collar...where the tug clamp tightens on the drill. Two, I bought mine used with no manual. Do you know what they recommend for the dial power setting on the...

Little Star V Thrust Tug - Dewalt drill powered

Question. I got mine used and no manual. Do you happen to recall what power setting they recommend on the drill. Amazon delivering the 998 today. Hope it fits.

Does anyone have tug bar like this?

Anyone happen to know the current model DeWalt drill that will fit the collar on the tug? Can't get batteries for the one I have anymore Thanks

    Tug question....again!

Thought of that too. I heard they can be difficult to steer with the tow bar on the front end. Our 16 y/o G'daughter will be using it by herself so I wanted it as simple as possible. Thanks

    Tug question....again!

Thanks on the AeroTow T1...our 16 y/o G'daughter just soloed so she will be using it by herself. I was wondering about her...she's maybe 5 ft even...hauling it around.
