How much space to build a plane (rv14)

Thanks. I just figured out how to find addresses of owners of flying rv14s, will send letters to a bunch begging for a ride.

How much space to build a plane (rv14)

Where are you (really your rv14) located?

How much space to build a plane (rv14)

Quick build times are way out. I’d debate ordering all the kits to get in line for a thunderbolt engine in 2026 if lucky. 3yrs they say I have a plane already.

How much space to build a plane (rv14)

I spent years shopping for my first plane, would need to spend years shopping for next one, years even to order new.

How much space to build a plane (rv14)

I disagree. I’ve had gads of issues with getting maintenance performed. Shops are busy and juggle work. Also, a logical step up from a 172 would be a 200mph capable plane. Buying used and bringing it up to snuff would perhaps take more money and just as long. 182 rg modern gadgets, 300hp...

How much space to build a plane (rv14)

Big picture goal is to work on and sign off my own plane. Thinking I would not fit in home built my plan is for school. Now I think I might fit in an rv14.

How much space to build a plane (rv14)

I sat in an rv14 and am considering ordering one. I have plans to go to AP school in August, goal to become IA to work on and sign off my own plane. Having mostly fit in the rv14 I am now wondering if building a plane at home will ultimately be more rewarding. School would take two hrs total...

I'm glad some of my landings were not on video!

    High Altitude Flight test

Good stuff. Someone in aviation should really go learn and test the specific pros and cons of the oxygen systems. It seems like lots of posters talk well about the concentrator systems, but the data available on them seems fuzzy (at least to me as a retired RN). The pulse systems seem to...

    Best Oxygen systems

I searched a few minutes and can't find much data on how much this system gives the user. Maybe I saw that it gives less than 2l/min. Do you know any data on what the user breathes in?

    Best Oxygen systems

I am not discounting them. I have discounted my willingness to do them all the time and to make my passengers (family) do that rather than avoid the scenario altogether or finding a better means of dealing.

    Best Oxygen systems

I’m not willing to do focused breathing while flying an airplane over mountains. I could do such things to save my life, but I’m not gonna put myself in this situation where I have to do that. I did a little bit of that yesterday and I was able to bring my numbers up into the 90s, but then I...

    Best Oxygen systems

I have a mountain high (EDS) O2 system. It senses when you are inhaling and gives a gentle puff of O2 at the start of inhalation. My sats, while a bit anxious, at 13000 feet today were 84-86%, while using the mountain high system. I could use a system that gave continuous O2. Is there any...

    High Altitude Flight test

Thanks. Note the RN in my screen name...I'm well aware, all part of why I posted this topic and am asking about continuous O2 vs a lil bit on inhale with the mountain high system.

    High Altitude Flight test

Well I just went above 13000, 90 mph was still getting 3-400 fpm climb. Sats to 84 on mountain high system. I wonder if it would have been better on continuous oxygen. I had on 3 layers, was glad for it as my top vents never fully close. One spit out something, ice? Carb heat required, or it...
