I had the privilege to complete my SOE training this week. The experience was amazing. We had every weather condition imaginable. Who would have thought ice was easy to find in Texas in May? I learned something new each flight and this experience was a huge confidence builder. A few observations...

25 hours of SOE is required by FAA for new type so yes, I will have a mentor pilot. Will knock it out in 5 back to back days.

Nobody would believe me if I were to tell you I sold my SR22 for more than I bought it for so I guess I will not tell you anything. What I can tell you is they are more expensive now then when I bought and the wait is a lot longer so a low time fully equipped bird is a good deal for both parties.

Already got the type rating. It was fun! And I get to look forward to it yearly now

The current AOA needed to be reworked or replaced. They are getting them turned around. An inconvenience but they are getting through it. This is my old one below.

So for all the AOA jokes through the years, it was finally the AOA that delayed my delivery. I guess karma wanted to play a little joke on me. Oh well, she flew last Thursday so the delivery should be able to move forward and SOE flights can begin the first of next week. Damn those AOAs

A can of Mobil Jet 2 is a quart. I will only be adding ounces at a time. As I head out on my SOE trip, I will need to bring some with me. Apparently the stuff eats through plastic. What types of containers do you have experience with in storing Mobile Jet 2 to bring with you while traveling...

Negative. Been gone for 6 weeks between 2 weeks at type class and my Europe trip and still have to do SOE and stuff. But after things settle down count me in for future trips
