You can fly into Harrison - about 30 min drive from the river and Natl park. Fly yourself or commercial- southern airways express flights from DFW. Ponca, Jasper, several nice areas. I think early to mid October is usually good for the fall color - but depends on the year. Good luck. Also...

I’ve had a Volt for 3 years. Love it. I got the $7,500 credit plus state credit of $2,500. I buy gas about once every 4 months. Charge for free at work. Really like the overall drive and convenience. Motor backup if you drive more than 42 miles.

I think I will start another thread “I’m thinking about buying a plane - which one should I get?” Just to bug Pasta man. He seems to have a short fuse.

My daily ritual is to peruse Barnstormers for cool planes I probably can’t afford. I really enjoy looking at the low SMOH, leather seats and a great panel, and imagining pulling the trigger. Then I notice it says call for price. Van Bortel here in DFW does it a lot. It’s really a buzz...

I was watching some of Bryan’s videos on YouTube and really enjoyed them. Particularly liked the one on the walk around pre-flight check. He showed using a penny to check tire tread and I was wondering if that’s what I should use for my new nose wheels. Maybe a larger coin?

I'm planning a long cross country. In flightplan im getting warning that says maximum fuel exceeded by 23 gallons. I would like to plan and enter a fuel stop but can’t figure out how to add fuel. Is there some trick I’m missing? Or do you just have to wait until you arrive at that location...

I’m wondering if anyone has tried 3D printing the interior stiffeners for wheel pants. There are several plastic type parts and a few metal as well that are broken on mine. Not sure if it would be tough enough or rigid enough to hold up. I’ve been looking online at salvage too. For a C 182 J

Join a club for a year. Get a lot of flying in and find out what type of plane you like.....high wing low wing etc. great way to share costs and meet other folks. May change your mind completely on what type of plane you want.
